2020 (Sophomore/COVID-19 Pandemic)
Indoor: Did not compete in any meets.
Outdoor: Due to the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the 2020 outdoor season was not contested. To help combat the spread of the virus, both the Big Ten Conference and the University of Nebraska suspended all team activities, effective March 13.
Before Nebraska
Joined the Huskers after spending one year at Hastings College following a prep career at Dundy County Stratton High School in Benkelman, Nebraska…set personal-bests in the heptathlon with a score of 4,773, pole vault with a height of 15-0, 300m hurdles with a time of 38.61 and high jump with a leap of 6-7…during his prep career he was a two-time Nebraska state champion in the 300m hurdles (2017 and 2018) and was also the 2018 state champion in the 110m hurdles and 400m...he is also a member of the Nebraska football team.

Born Dec. 9, 1999...parents are Brandon and Davina...a child, youth and family studies major, Phalen earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in December of 2022.
