Outlook (2008)
As one of two seniors on the 2008 team, Karl Jones will be looked upon for leadership and experience. Jones had an emergency appendectomy during the summer while he was in his hometown of London, England. After spending time at the hospital, Jones worked his way back to full strength during the fall season, and hopes to have no problems during the spring season. Jones has worked hard to improve his game, and hopes to earn a regular spot in the Husker lineup. However, he will have to battle seven other returning letterwinners and three newcomers for six singles spots and three doubles spots.

Junior (2006-07)
After playing in eight matches and earning a 3-5 record in the fall of 2006,  Jones played in one dual match for the Huskers in the spring season, defeating Aaron Angst of Nebraska-Kearney, 6-0, 6-0. Jones competed in two doubles matches in the fall, going 0-2.

Sophomore (2005-06)
Although Jones did not compete in singles during the spring, he compiled a 1-2 doubles record in dual competition. Jones was second on the team in singles victories for the Huskers in the fall season, as he went 3-4.

Freshman (2004-05)
Jones competed in only one dual match during the spring, defeating Ryo Sakamoto from Idaho State at the No. 6 spot. Jones did play in five fall matches with a record of 1-4, and went 1-1 in exhibition contests during the spring. In doubles play, Jones teamed up with Marcus Karner for four matches, going 1-3.

High School
Jones attended Cheam High School and earned a top-10 national junior ranking in England. He was ranked No. 112 nationally.

Personal
Karl was born on Dec. 18, 1984, in London, England, and is the son of Mike and Paula Jones. He is majoring in news-editorial at Nebraska.
