Aaron Stamn joined the Nebraska football staff last year as a graduate assistant coach and will work with the Husker defense for the second straight season in 2005, assisting defensive line coach John Blake.
Stamn came to Nebraska from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, where he served as a graduate assistant coach for two years. In 2002, Stamn assisted with the defensive line and outside linebackers as the Huskies ranked third in rush defense in Division II and posted a 9-2 record. The following year, Stamn coached the linebackers, including SCSU’s top two tacklers as St. Cloud finished 7-4. In the summers between 2000 and 2003, Stamn served as a summer camp assistant for Kevin Cosgrove at Wisconsin.
Stamn is enrolled in graduate studies at UNL. He began his master’s work in sports management at St. Cloud State, and is now concentrating on education administration.
While working as a student assistant coach, Stamn earned his undergraduate degree in physical education with a minor in coaching from Minnesota State University-Mankato in 2002. He served as an offensive line assistant coach during the 2000 season and assisted with the defensive backs in 2001.
Stamn and his wife, Courtney, have two sons, Rylan and Jackson.
