2016-17 (Senior)
Briana Zabierek (pronounced zuh-BEAR-ick) was an important part of Nebraska's rotation in 2016-17, serving as both a starter and a key reliever throughout the season. She helped Nebraska to a national runner-up finish in 2017, as she ended her career with a national championship in 2015 and three second-place finishes as a Husker.

She saw action in all of NU's 10 meets as a senior, finishing with a season average of 189 and a career average of 194.4.

Zabierek was at her best at the Crusader Classic as she fired an average of 205 to finish ninth overall and help the Huskers to the team championship. She also posted an average of 200 at the Warhawk Invitational to help Nebraska to a third place finish.

Zabierek continued to stand out in the classroom and the community as a senior, as she was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2016-17. She captured her third consecutive Academic All-Big Ten honor in 2017, and she earned a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for the fourth time as a senior.

2015-16 (Junior)
Zabierek took a step forward during the second half of her junior season, becoming the leadoff bowler in Nebraska's five-woman rotation and earning honorable-mention NTCA All-America accolades along the way.

Zabierek posted a 203.6 average on the season and helped lead Nebraska to an NCAA runner-up finish. She competed in each of NU's 10 events in 2015-16.

She earned the first two top-five finishes of her career in back-to-back weeks in February, finishing fifth at the SFA Stormin' Ladyjack Classic and third at the Warhawk Invitational.

Zabierek was at her best at the Warhawk Invitational, posting a 225.2 average to help the Huskers to the team title.

At the 2016 NCAA Championship, Zabierek finished seventh overall with an average of 213.8, helping Nebraska to a second-place finish.

Zabierek continued to lead the Huskers outside the lanes as well, earning NTCA Scholastic All-America and academic All-Big Ten honors. She also claimed spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters. She was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for a third year in a row.

2014-15 (Sophomore)
Zabierek played a key role in Nebraska's run to a fifth NCAA title in 2015, participating in every regular-season tournament for the Huskers.

She contributed a season average pinfall of 195.5 in 43 games. She was at her best during Nebraska's home tournament, the Big Red Invitational, rolling a 202 average in five games. She helped the Huskers take second in the 17-team Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack Classic, producing a 201.5 average in six games.

An honorable-mention NTCA Scholastic All-American, Zabierek added academic All-Big Ten honors in 2015. She also earned a prestigious Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award and claimed a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award as a sophomore. She was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both semesters while claiming a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2015.

2013-14 (Freshman)
Zabierek helped lead the Huskers to a second-place finish at the NCAA Championships by delivering several outstanding performances. In her first game of the tournament, she erupted for a 255 to power the Huskers to a victory over Sam Houston State in the second qualifying round. She produced a team-leading 222 total pinfall in her second game against Wisconsin-Whitewater.

She rolled a 213 in a win over UW-Whitewater in the second game at the Big Red Invitational, helping Nebraska to the team title.

Zabierek finished 14th individually with a 1,040 pinfall at the Mid-Winter Classic.

She starred in the classroom, claiming NTCA Scholastic All-America accolades in 2014. She earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters, and she was named to the inaugural Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for her work in the community in 2014.

Before Nebraska 
Zabierek joined the Nebraska bowling team after compiling a tremendous high school career at Lockport Township East in Lockport, Ill. Zabierek posted a high series score of 747, earning two top-20 state finishes in high school. She placed 14th in 2012 and 23rd in 2013, while also recording a school-record 211 average. Zabierek was also an honor roll student all four years of high school.

Personal
The daughter of Walter and Denise Zabierek, Briana was born on Dec. 29, 1994. She has two sisters, Amanda and Marikate. Briana is double majoring in nutrition, exercise and health science and nutrition science and is a three-time NTCA Scholastic All-American (2014, 2015, 2016). An Academic All-Big Ten choice in 2015, 2016 and 2017, Zabierek is also a nine-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She earned a prestigious Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award and a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award in 2015. She is also a four-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017).
