2007-08 Outlook
Sarah Koch ended the 2006-07 season as a full-time starter for the Huskers. She gained valuable tournament experience during her first year, including a career-best fifth-place finish at the Brunswick Windy City Classic, to help her advance in all aspects of the game. This season, Koch is expected to emerge as a leader in the Huskers lineup.

"Sarah's game is better this year than it was last year," Nebraska Coach Bill Straub said. "She is certainly heading in the right direction to reach her full potential. I'm looking forward to helping her with that."

2006-07 Review
During the 2006-07 season, Koch bowled in every tournament, including the 2007 NCAA Tournament where she finished the qualifying rounds in 28th place with a 194.7 average. She rolled a total season pinfall of 10,605 over 56 games for a 189.30 average, which gave her a spot on the Nebraska's all-time freshman records for top averages. Koch's best finish came at the Brunswick Windy City Classic in Chicago, Ill., on March 25, 2007, where she earned a fifth-place finish with a collegiate-career high of 218.60.

2005-06 Review
Koch redshirted during the 2005-06 season.

Before Nebraska
Koch celebrated success during her junior career as she was a member of the Illinois Scholarship Bowling Club team. She won three individual titles and helped the team win team-of-the-year honors in both 2004 and 2005. Koch also claimed two Indiana Youth Scholarship Bowling Tour individual titles and three Wisconsin Scholarship Bowling Club individual titles. Koch won the Illinois State Star of Tomorrow award and was a Junior Olympic Gold participant from 2003 to 2006.

Personal
Sarah, the daughter of Ron Koch and Sue Denen, was born on Jan. 17, 1987. She graduated from Ottawa High School in 2005, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and honor roll. In addition to bowling, Koch lettered in basketball, softball and volleyball. She has one sister, Kayla.
