2025-26 (Sophomore)
Karina Capron appeared in 133.3 games this season, 38 of those being individual. She had a top-ten finish, finishing 10th at the Stallings Invitational rolling an 199.8 average. She posted a season-high game of 248 at the Northeast Classic. Capron finished the season with 7,672 pinfall and an average of 201.5 over 38 games. Capron was selected to the All-Conference USA third-team. In addition to her performance on the lanes, she has been named to the Academic All-Big Ten, CUSA Commissioner’s Honor Roll and is a two time selection to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

2024-25 (Freshman)
Karina Capron debuted for the Big Red in her freshman season, participating in 38 games and in nine of the 11 tournaments. Individually, Capron averaged a 219 on the season, with a high game of 266. The freshman averaged a 230.6 at the Destination Orlando tournament in October, finishing fourth on the all-tournament team. Off the lanes, Capron excelled academically, earning a selection to the Tom Osborne Citizenship team, a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and the NTCA All-Academic Scholar.

Before Nebraska
A native of Fremont, Karina Capron brings a deep and extensive resume full of high school and national experience. With a pair of 300 games and a 796 high series, Capron is a Junior Team USA member, in addition to winning the U12 2017 Junior Gold Championship. She continued her success at Junior Gold earning runner-up honors in 2018 and 2023 and winning the U18 championship in 2024. Capron has had great success both locally and nationally, showcased by being a seven-time Nebraska State Pepsi Champion, holding the championship for the past six years. Capron also holds herself among professionals in the nation by placing in the top 36 at the 2023 USA Team Trials. 

Personal
The daughter of Kevin and Kim Capron, Karina hopes to continue her winning ways at Nebraska. She is majoring in exercise and health science with a minor in psychology and certificate in gerontology. She earned a spot on the Academic All-Big Ten in 2026 and the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2024. She is also a two-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
