2007-08 Review
Freshman Christine Bator (pronounced BAY-tor) has had an impressive freshman year as she first made the all-tournament team at the Cheeseland Classic on Nov. 11. Her 198 average earned her fourth place in the tournament. She then earned another fourth-place finish at the Maverick Challenge with a 197 average. Bator then tied Nebraska’s Cassie Leuthold for 10th place at the Capital City Classic with an season-high average of 214. Bator rounded out the year with a 19th-place finish at the Morgan State Invitational on Feb. 17.
Bator enters the NCAA Championships with a 194.80 average.
Before Nebraska
Bator entered the Nebraska lineup as an eight-time Michigan Junior Masters Association champion. The native of Warren, Mich., was an All-State and All-City team captain in addition to winning the Bowling Proprietors Association of America North Pointe Insurance championship.
Personal
The daughter of Christopher and Suzanne Bator, Christine was born on Aug. 18, 1989, in Warren, Mich. She graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 2007, where she was active in bowling and tennis. Bator was also active in her community, participating in various projects during her high school career. Bator, a sports medicine major, has three siblings, Jennifer, Matthew and Joseph.
