2021-22 (Graduate)
Michelle Guarro (pronounced wah-RO) put together her best season as a Husker as Nebraska won five regular-season tournament titles and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. She averaged a 199.4 in 35 traditional games, raising her scoring average by nearly eight points from the previous season. She posted her first career top-10 finish by placing seventh at the Big Red Invitational with a career-best tournament average of 226.4. It was one of three straight top-20 finishes, as she also had four straight tournaments where she posted at least a 200 average. In Baker Format, she averaged 19.49 pins per frame while serving as the Huskers’ primary leadoff bowler in 2021-22. She finished with a career average of 193.20 in 108 career games.

2020-21 (Senior)
Guarro was the lead bowler in the lineup and co-captain for the national champion Huskers in 2020-21. She competed at all five regular-season tournaments and in the NCAA Championships. Guarro's season-high finish was 18th at the Big Red Invitational with an average of 211.25. She finished the season with an average of 187.25. Guarro was named Academic All-Big Ten for the second consecutive year and also earned a spot on the 2021 Tom Osborne Citizenship team.

2019-20 (Junior)
Guarro was in the Huskers’ lineup throughout the season, competing in five of NU’s nine tournaments. She raised her numbers across the board, averaging a 191.8 in 16 traditional lineup games, while making significant improvement both strike and spare percentages in all competitions. Guarro also averaged a 193.3 per game in baker format. She bowled 200 or better in six of her 16 games in the lineup, including a season high of 238 in the Columbia 300 Saints Invitational. That was her best competition performance, as she placed 17th overall with a pinfall of 989. Guarro was named Academic All-Big Ten for the second consecutive year while also earning a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship team for her outreach work. 

2018-19 (Sophomore)
Guarro earned a spot in Nebraska’s starting rotation and continued to improve throughout her sophomore year. She competed in nine of NU’s 10 tournaments, recording her highest pinfall of the season (1,025) at the Columbia 300 Saints, where she finished with a 205.0 average. Guarro finished with a season average of 190.7 in traditional games, while also averaging a 180.5 in baker games. She also excelled outside the lanes, earning Academic All-Big Ten honors and a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the spring semester. She was also a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

2017-18 (Freshman)
Guarro added depth to the Husker lineup as a freshman, competing in five tournaments for the Big Red. Her best individual effort came at the Big Red Invitational with a total pinfall of 734. She posted a 182.1 average in traditional games, while also averaging a 192.9 in baker format. Guarro earned a spot on the NTCA All-Academic Team and was a member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She was also selected to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Before Nebraska
Guarro brought a wealth of international experience to the Huskers, as a four-time member of Junior Team Mexico. She won a gold medal competing in Team of Four at the 2014 Central America Tournament. She also won bronze medals in Master’s at the 2015 CONCECABOL Tournament and at the 2016 International Friendly Competition in Doha, Qatar. Guarro-Sanchez bowled a high game of 280 and a high three-game series of 750 during her youth career. She was coached by Carlos Olivera as a youth bowler.

Personal
The daughter of Francisco Guarro and Olivia Sanchez, Michelle was born Oct. 9, 1997. She has two brothers, Diego and Rodrigo. An NTCA All-Academic Team selection in 2018, Michelle was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2022. She was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and a seven-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She also was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in each of the past five seasons. She also worked with NU Life Skills in the N-Vest program which aids in the transition, retention, graduation and preparation of underrepresented student-athletes. A management major, Guarro earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May 2022.
