2011 (Senior)
Nicholas Gordon added a pair of second-team All-America honors in 2011, bringing his career total to five All-America accolades… was named the NU Male Student-Athlete of the Year and was a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American for his combined success on the track and in the classroom… opened the season at the Holiday Inn Invitational with a leap of 48-0 ¾ in the triple jump and then cleared 25-6 in the long jump the following weekend as the adidas Classic… automatically qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships with his jump of 26-0 at the Razorback Invitational… took second in the long jump for the second straight year at the Big 12 Indoor Championships with a mark of 26-0 ¾ and added an eighth-place finish in the triple jump with a personal-best leap of 50-11 ½… placed 11th at indoor nationals with a mark of 24-7 ¼ and earned second-team All-America honors… won the special invitational division of the long jump during the outdoor season at the Kansas Relays with a leap of 25-2 ½… cleared 26-0 at the Penn Relays to finish second… posted a wind-aided long jump of 26-8 ½ at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships on his first attempt of the meet and finished second… was also 10th in the triple jump and ran a leg of the ninth-place 4x100-meter relay… cleared 25-9 ¼ at the NCAA Outdoor Championships to finish ninth… was named a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American after earning first-team honors in 2010… competed at the Jamaican National Championships in Kingston… took third in the long jump with a leap of 26-0.

2010 (Junior)
Nicholas Gordon added a pair of runner-up finishes at the Big 12 Championships in 2010 and produced personal bests in the triple jump both indoors and outdoors... posted his first provisional-qualifying jump of the indoor season in the long jump at the Bill Bergan Invitational with a leap of 25-0 3/4... cleared a personal best in the triple jump the next week with a jump of 50-10 3/4... cleared 25-9 1/4 in the long jump at the Tyson Invitational to automatically qualifying for the national meet... took runner-up honors at the conference indoor meet with a jump of 25-10... struggled at the NCAA Indoor Championships and placed 14th... bettered his previous outdoor triple jump best of 51-1 3/4 at the Texas Tech Dual with a leap of 52-1 1/4... took second in the long jump and seventh in the triple jump at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships to held the men win the team title... saved his best jumping of the season for the NCAA West Regional, where he cleared 26-0 in the long jump to finish fourth and automatically qualify for the national meet... finished eighth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships (24-11 1/4) to earn All-America honors for the second straight season... excelled in the classroom and was honored as a first-team CoSIDA Academic All-Amerian.

2009 (Sophomore)

Gordon became one of the top long jumpers in Husker history in 2009 as he won the NCAA indoor title as well as the Big 12 indoor and outdoor titles... jumped in five meets during the indoor season and posted wins at four... earned back-to-back wins to open the year at the Conference Challenge (24-5 3/4) and Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (24-10)... provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships with a then-personal-best jump of 25-8 at the Tyson Invitational to finish third...  automatically qualified for the national meet at the Big 12 Indoor Championships when he broke former Husker Chris Wright’s meet record of 26-0 with a winning jump of 26-1 1/2... jumped no less than 25 feet on every jump, with his worst jump of 25-0 1/2 good enough for eighth place... cemented the Husker long jumpers as the most dominant program in the Big 12 era, as it was the men’s seventh indoor title in the conference’s 13-year history... dramatically won the indoor national title with a personal-best jump of 26-4 1/2... entered the final round trailing Jeremy Hicks of LSU and won the meet on the final jump of the competition... joined NU school-record holder and 2006 indoor/outdoor champion Arturs Abolins in winning the national title on the final jump of the 2006 meet as the only NU men to win the indoor national title in the long jump... continued to jump well during the outdoor season... finished second in three consecutive meets to start the year, including the Nebraska Invitational, John McDonnell Invitational and Penn Relays... tied his personal best at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships with a winning leap of 25-11 1/2... joined the previously mentioned Wright (1998) as the only Husker men in the Big 12 era to sweep the conference long jump titles... finished second at the NCAA Midwest Regional with a then-personal-best jump of 26-0 1/4... cleared 26-2 3/4 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships to take third and become just the fourth men’s long jumper in school history to earn All-America honors indoors and outdoors in the same season... earned a spot on the Jamaican IAAF World Championships team with a third-place and personal-best jump of 26-7 1/4 at the JAAA Supreme Ventures National Trials... finished 20th out of 42 jumpers at the World Championships in Berlin, Germany, with a jump of 26-0.

 

2008 (Freshman)

Gordon improved throughout his first season at Nebraska, qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships and competing at the Jamaican Olympic Trials... posted his first collegiate victory at the Conference Challenge in the triple jump with a then-indoor personal-best leap of 49-11 1/4... won the long jump at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (24-10), Tyson Invitational (24-9 3/4) and Nebraska Last Chance (24-7)... finished third in the long jump with a mark of 24-9 at the Big 12 Indoor Championships... ended the indoor season at the Iowa State Last Chance with a then-personal-best jump of 25-2 1/2 to finish second, tying for the No. 21 jump in Division I in 2008 while ranking 10th all-time at Nebraska indoors... finished in the top three at eight of nine meets during the outdoor season in the long jump... posted wins at the Kansas Relays (24-10w), Nebraska Open (24-10), Nebraska Invitational (24-5 1/2) and NCAA Midwest Regional (25-11 1/2)... set the regional record with the fourth-best jump all-time at Nebraska outdoors (25-11 1/2)... finished runner-up at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships with a jump of 25-6, just one quarter-inch short of champion Julian Reed of Texas A&M (25-6 1/4)... finished 13th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a jump of 24-5... went on to compete at the Jamaican Olympic Trials, finishing fourth with a leap of 25-1 1/4.

 

Before Nebraska (Calabar HS)

Gordon graduated from Calabar High School in Kingston, Jamaica, where he was coached by Michael Clarke and Nicholas Neutville... won the gold medal in the 2007 Jamaica Championships in the long jump (24-8 1/2)... was the winner of the 2007 Jamaica High School Boys Class 1 long jump in a prep-best 24-9 3/4... also earned the silver medal in the Boys Class 1 triple jump (49-9 1/4)... leaped 23-10 3/4 to finish second in the 2007 Carifta Games and posted his prep best in the triple jump with a leap of 49-11 in Kingston... took third with a jump of 23-11 1/2w at the 2006 CAC Junior Championships... won the 2004 Jamaican High School Boys championships... chose Nebraska over Florida State and Arkansas.
