Huskers Race Past Le Moyne, 106-64

Cale Jacobsen and Pryce Sandfort combined for 30 first-half points, as Nebraska raced to a 26-point halftime lead and never looked back in 106-64 win over Le Moyne Monday evening at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Nebraska, which has won 23 straight regular-season non-conference games dating back to 2023, shot a blistering 62.5 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes to build a 58-32 halftime lead. The 58 points were NU’s highest first-half total since 2005, as NU outscored the Dolphins, 41-17, over the final 12:05 of the first half.

Jacobsen and Sandfort combined for NU’s final 19 first-half points, as NU allowed just two field goals over the final 5:05 of the half.

Jacobsen had 14 of his 16 markers in the opening 20 minutes, including seven straight points in a span of 1:26 in an 11-0 run to close the half. He finished with a career-high 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting along with four rebounds and three assists.

Sandfort finished with a team-high 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting led five Huskers in double figures. Connor Essegian (13), Damon Wilkinson (11) and Jacob Lanier totaled double-figure efforts off the bench, as Nebraska got 48 points from its reserves.

Trevan Leonhardt keyed the attack that shot 54 percent from the field, including 14-of-30 from 3-point range, with seven assists without a turnover, as NU dished out 24 assists to just eight turnovers.

Nebraska’s 106 points was its highest total since 2020.

The game was even for the first eight minutes before a Jacobson jumper ignited a 12-0 surge to put the Big Red ahead 29-17. Le Moyne cut the deficit to nine twice, the last coming on a Trevor Roe 3-pointer with 6:24 left in the half, but Nebraska closed the half on a 23-6 spurt to take control.

Roe led Le Moyne with 20 points on 7-16 shooting while Jayden Teat added 14 points for Le Moyne, which was held to 39 percent shooting.

The Huskers hit the road to face the Providence Friars in the Hall of Fame Tipoff on Saturday, November 7th at Mohegan Sun Arena. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. (CT) and the game will air on FS1 and the Huskers Radio Network.
