Jessica Jolly fired a career-best 66 (-5) to finish with a career-best-tying 54-hole score of 213 (E) on her way to matching Husker teammate Ailis Tribolet in 11th place to lead the Nebraska women's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate presented by PDI in Wichita, Kan., Tuesday.
Jolly, a junior from Rockford, Mich., helped the Huskers move up one spot in the team standings on the tournament's final day with her career round. Jolly notched six birdies against just one bogey in the final round while making 11 pars to eclipse her previous collegiate best round by three strokes.
Tribolet got the Huskers off to a strong start in Monday's first round with a 67 (-4). The sophomore from Chandler, Ariz., sat atop the leaderboard after the first round, before adding rounds of 73 (+2) over the final 36 holes on the par 71, 6,127-yard layout of the Wichita Country Club.
Fellow sophomore Kaleigh Babineaux added a top-20 finish of her own by tying for 18th at 214 (+1) in the 66-player field. Babineaux opened with a 70 (-1) on Monday before closing with an even-par 71 on Tuesday.
Hannah Kono matched Babineaux with an even-par 71 in the final round, which followed back-to-back rounds of 72 to open the tournament. The senior from Enkoping, Sweden, finished in a tie for 22nd at 215 (+2).
Sophomore Ammy Raemmuang rounded out Nebraska's lineup with a final-round 73 (+2) on Tuesday. She closed her first tournament as a Husker at 227 (+14) in 59th-place.
Olivia Lovegrove completed the Husker contingent in 62nd at 233 (+20). The junior from Lincoln Christian opened with a 70 (-1) on Monday while playing as an individual outside Nebraska's lineup before finishing with rounds of 80 and 83.
The hosts from Oklahoma won the tournament title with a three-round total of 839 (-13). The Sooners finished two shots in front of Missouri (841), while Santa Clara took third at 850 (-2). BYU (854) held off the Huskers by just one stroke, while Eastern Michigan took sixth at 857 (+5) in the 11-team field.
Oklahoma's Satonkan (Earn) Thiengsri was the individual medalist with a 205 (-8), while Missouri's Addie Dobson took second at 206 (-7).
The Huskers close their fall campaign at the Golf Iconic Classic in Las Cruces, N.M., Oct. 12-14.
