Katie Spencer Captures UTR Pro Tournament Championship

Nebraska sophomore Katie Spencer took home the title in the UTR Pro Tour Tournament, defeating teammate Emma Rizzetto (6-4, 4-6, 7-5) to wrap up the tournament in Lincoln. Spencer takes home $2.2k in prize money from the 16-player draw.

The Big Red saw an overall successful week as the final four-play draw was all Huskers. Rizzetto took home second place, moving onto the championship after Maria Taranova retired due to injury in the semifinal match. Spencer took down Conley Raidt in a close three sets (6-1, 6-7 [5-7], 7-6 [7-2]) in the semifinal match on Thursday to take her to the championship round.

Baylor transfer Neda Rahimkhani qualified for the championship of her playoff stage, defeating Chloe Zigliara in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) but falling to Kasia Chen in the championship. Reya Lee Coe fell in the first round of her playoff stage to Kaiden Greer.

The Huskers wrap up the tournament with a 12-5 overall record over non-NU opponents.
