Nebraska comes up short against Ole Miss, Memphis

The Husker rifle team took on two tough opponents this afternoon in No. 5 Ole Miss and No. 10 Memphis. They lost to both the Rebels 4724-4696 and the Tigers 4709-4696. 

Freshman Makenzie Larson led the team with a 1175, placing sixth. She is followed by Katlyn Sullivan and Maddy Moyer, both shooting a 1174. Sullivan placed ninth, and Moyer placed tenth. 

In the smallbore, Nebraska was led by Alivia Perkins, placing sixth. In seventh place, Sullivan shot a 582, and in ninth place, Moyer also scored a 582. Larson (581, eleventh), Hannah Gallagher (579, sixteenth) and Carley Seabrooke (577, seventeenth) finished the Big Red smallbore lineup. 

In the air rifle, Larson shot a 594, placing sixth. Behind her, Sullivan placed tenth with 592. Moyer (591, 11th), Perkins (590, 15th), Gallagher (587, 18th) and Seabrooke (587) complete the air rifle for the Big Red. 

Nebraska heads over to Memphis, Tenn., to face the Tigers again tomorrow, Sunday, October 11. The match will start at 8 a.m. (CT). After that, the Huskers will have a two-week break before hosting Kentucky and Alaska-Fairbanks on October 24 and 25.
