Nebraska Routs Jacksonville State on Senior Day

The No. 4 Nebraska rifle team defeated No. 13 Jacksonville State, 4,741-4,668 on senior day honoring Huskers Emma Rhode and Camilla Johannessen. The Big Red moved to 16-1 on the season after Saturday’s win over the Gamecocks.

Nebraska grabbed the top four spots overall. Rhode led the scoreboard with her aggregate score of 1,187, followed by freshmen Katlyn Sullivan and Carley Seabrooke in second and third place respectively, both shooting marks of 1,186. The tiebreaker is determined by the number of inner tens shot by each athlete. Maddy Moyer took fourth place with a score of 1,180.

“Overall I’m very happy with the consistency this group is showing,” Head Coach Richard Clark said. “Regardless of the obstacles we face on match day, they find a way to get it done. There are a few small areas that we have to clean up and be a little better at before rolling into conferences next weekend, but we are seeing the progress at times, we just have to put it together now. Thankfully we have another match tomorrow to go out and put our skills to the test.”

In the smallbore, the top five spots were fully taken up by Huskers. Seabrooke placed first with a mark of 590, followed by Rhode with a mark of 590 and Alivia Perkins with her score of 588. Sullivan and Moyer followed closely behind in fourth and fifth place, shooting 587 and 586 respectively. Hannah Gallagher (eighth, 583), Grace Corbett (ninth, 578), Johannessen (10th, 587) and Charlie Mick (13th, 567) finished up the lineup for the Big Red.

In the air rifle, NU grabbed four of the top five spots. Sullivan led the match, shooting a 599 for the third time this season. Rhode followed in second with a mark of 597, Seabrooke in third with a score of 595, and Moyer taking fourth, shooting 594. Corbett (seventh, 591), Gallagher (eighth, 589) and Johannessen (12th, 581) rounded out the air rifle lineup for Nebraska.

The Huskers will return to competition tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 1, for another match against Jacksonville State in what will be NU’s final home competition of the 2025-26 season.
