Huskers Head North for Pair of Road Matches
• The Nebraska soccer team will play a pair of road matches in the state of Michigan this week, as the Huskers are set to take on the No. 2 Michigan State Spartans on Thursday, Sept. 24, and No. 20 Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 27.
• Nebraska has a record of 2-2-5 after playing to a 2-2 draw against then-No. 11 Washington on Sunday. Michigan State is 6-1-2 and 2-1-0 in Big Ten Play, while Michigan is 4-1-3 and 2-1-0 in league play.

• Nebraska’s last win against a top-25 foe was a 5-0 win over No. 25 Ohio State on Oct. 30, 2022. 
• A Husker win on Thursday would mark the first top-5 victory for the Big Red since a 1-0 win on Nov. 10, 2002 against No. 3 Texas A&M in College Station.

• 16.89: Nebraska ranks third in the conference with 16.89 shots per game through eight matches this season. The Huskers notched a season-high 26 shots against Omaha on Aug. 27 and also eclipsed 20 or more shots vs. South Dakota (25) and Alabama (22).
• 34: Goalie Avery Gillahan has picked up 34 saves this season, third in the Big Ten as of Sept. 21. 
• 7: Nebraska is averaging seven corner kicks per game in 2026 to rank fourth in the Big Ten and 25th nationally. 

Huskers Finish Level with No. 11 Washington
• A last-minute goal from No. 11 Washington helped the Huskies earn a 2-2 draw with Nebraska on Sept. 20in a hard-fought Big Ten soccer match at Barbara Hibner Stadium.
• Nebraska (2-2-5, 0-1-2 Big Ten) trailed 1-0 at halftime but stormed back with second-half goals from Karli Williams and Ava Makovicka to take a 2-1 lead. The Huskers held on until the final minute, when Maya Loudd provided the equalizer off a corner kick to give No. 11 Washington (7-0-2, 2-0-1 Big Ten) the 2-2 draw and remain unbeaten.
• Makovicka’s goal was her second of the season, coming on a career-high five shot attempts. Williams notched her first collegiate goal, scoring off a free kick in the 63rd minute.
• Avery Gillahan (2-2-5) finished with four saves. Ella Guyott, making her first start since the 2024 season, tallied an assist.
