The No. 45 Nebraska women’s tennis team defeated Creighton by a score of 5-0 in on Wednesday at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center. The Huskers (14-6, 6-4 Big Ten) grabbed their first sweep since February 22.
The Big Red posted four singles victories and two doubles victories in the win over the Bluejays (13-5, 2-2 Big East).
The midweek match began at the Dillon Tennis Center with doubles play. Reya Lee Coe and Natalia Trigosso quickly jumped out to a 6-1 victory over Minikel/Tran on court three. Katie Spencer and Catherine Gagnon then defeated Martinez/Schwartz on court one by a score of 6-3 to swiftly secure the doubles point for NU. Emma Rizzetto and Yuzu Miyoshi’s match with Elvestrom and Cote was left unfinished at 5-4.
Up 1-0 headed into singles, Rizzetto delivered the first blow for the Huskers, topping Tran on court three by a score of 6-1, 6-0. Coe followed closely behind, defeating Cote on court five, 6-1, 6-3. It was Miyoshi who delivered the clinch for the Huskers, putting them up by a score of 4-0. With the victory clinched, Spencer quickly after defeated Martinez by a score of 6-1, 6-3 on court two for the final point of the match.

Nebraska will wrap up home action on Saturday, April 11, with a match against the Iowa Hawkeyes. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center.
