The Nebraska soccer team wrapped up its second of two home spring games with a 6-1 win over the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday afternoon at Barbara Hibner Stadium.
Transfer Nathalie Lewis had three of six goals for Nebraska. Karli Williams, Reese Borer, and Kate Eggett each added a goal of their own.
A team effort supported the Husker’s dominant performance with assists from Ava Makovicka, Karli Williams, Reese Snowden, Kayma Carpenter and Rin Sato.
Goalies Avery Gillahan and Maddy Osborn split time, allowing just one goal from the Cyclones’ five shots.
The Huskers were on the board first with a header goal from Karli Williams off of a corner by Kayma Carpenter. Likewise, Reese Borer opened the second period with a header goal off of a corner from Reese Snowden.
Nathalie Lewis made it 4-0 in the second period with a penalty kick goal and header of her own off assists from Ava Makovicka and Rin Sato. A quick shot, assisted by Williams, to start the third period completed her hat trick.
Kate Eggett rounded out scoring for Nebraska with a goal in the 80th minute.
Iowa State was able to put one in the back of the net with just ten seconds remaining in the match.
The Huskers will wrap up the spring season at Colorado on Saturday, April 18. The game is set to start at 1 p.m. (CT) in Boulder, Colo.
