No. 3 Huskers Gear Up for Simpson and Greenville Matchup

Huskers Travel to Face Simpson and Greenville
No. 3 Nebraska is set to matchup against No. 15 Simpson and No. 10 Greenville on Saturday, March 7, at 4 p.m. in Indianola, Iowa. The meet will be livestreamed on YouTube on Virtius Official Stream. 

Last Time Out
Nebraska fell to top-ranked Oklahoma, 331.300-321.150 on Feb. 28. Despite the loss, the Huskers recorded their highest team score of the season. Nebraska had five athletes earn personal bests: Caden Clinton on pommel horse, Sam Rakita on floor, Anthony Koppie on vault, Asher Cohen on parallel bars and Ty Roderiques on rings. Nebraska also outscored Oklahoma on both vault and parallel bars.

Scouting the Competition 
No. 15 Simpson last competed on Feb. 21, falling to Army in a narrow loss, 303.350-303.200. The score was Simpson’s highest team total of the season. The Storm’s only win this season came against William & Mary at the Nebraska quad meet.

No. 10 Greenville last competed on Feb. 28, finishing second behind Illinois while defeating Navy. The Panthers recorded a season-high team score of 310.850. Half of Greenville’s team will compete at Army with Springfield this weekend.
 
Quick Notes  
- Nebraska had three athletes receive stick bonuses in the meet against Oklahoma. Alex Nitache and Nathan York earned stick bonuses on parallel bars, while Sam Rakita earned one on floor.
- As a team, Nebraska is ranked third on floor, fourth on pommel horse, seventh on rings, third on vault, third on parallel bars and third on high bar.
- On floor, York is ranked third, Nitache is ranked sixth and Max Odden is ranked 14th nationally.
- York earned a second-place finish on parallel bars in Nebraska’s meet against Oklahoma, the highest finish among all Nebraska gymnasts.
- The Huskers are ranked third in the country with an average team score of 317.590. The average scores for the teams ranked third through sixth are separated by only about two points.
