Five Nebraska Gymnasts Earn National Recognition

The College Gymnastics Association announced its Regular-Season All-Americans, with Nebraska placing five athletes on the list. Chase Mondi earned All-America honors on vault and floor, Asher Cohen on rings, Ty Roderiques on vault, Nathan York on parallel bars and Max Odden on high bar. Regular-season All-America honors are awarded to the top eight athletes with the highest average score on each event.

Mondi, a junior, has competed in every meet this season on floor and vault. He holds an average of 13.783 on floor and 14.167 on vault. Mondi has won five individual titles this season, including two on floor and three on vault.

Cohen, a senior from Colorado, has excelled on rings all season for Nebraska. He has ranked in the top three nationally for eight weeks and leads the country with a 14.167 average. Cohen has won five individual titles on rings this season.

Freshman Ty Roderiques has been a dominant force on vault for Nebraska, competing in every meet on the event. He holds a 14.20 average and has won one individual title this season. He also earned CGA and Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors in Week 6.

York, a senior, has been a consistent performer on parallel bars. He has a 14.183 average, which ranks second nationally, and has won two individual titles this season.

Odden, a junior from Arizona, has anchored Nebraska on high bar for most of the season. He holds a 14.00 average, the second-highest in the country, and has won two individual titles on parallel bars this season.
