With a 6-0 start to the season, the Nebraska men’s tennis team looks to add to the win column as it takes on Ole Miss (7-0) on Saturday, Feb 7 at Noon (CT) and North Dakota (4-3) on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. (CT). Both duals will be played at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln.
Senior Leo Linquet and freshman Jeri Lassila continue to lead the way for the Huskers with their combined record between singles and doubles this spring season at 21-1. Lassila is undefeated overall with a 6-0 singles record and a 5-0 doubles record. Linquet goes into this weekend with a 5-0 singles record and a 5-1 doubles record after obtaining another huge win in Nebraska’s 4-3 feat over Texas Tech. He led a battle in singles play on court two beating Ludovico Vaccari 6-2, 6-7 [5-7], 7-5 to walk the match off for the Huskers. In singles play, redshirt sophomore Colson Wells follows behind them with a 4-0 record and two big wins in matches against Memphis and Texas Tech.
Nebraska is 6-0 and one match away from tying the best start in program history. The Huskers are 27-5 in singles and 10-5 in doubles as a team.
Ole Miss (7-0)
History: Nebraska leads the series 1-0, with the first and only matchup being last season when the Huskers played at Ole Miss and won, 4-3.
With their best start since 2021-22 (7-0), the Rebels come into Nebraska blazing hot with first-year head coach, Jake Jacoby. He comes to Ole Miss after a six-year tenure as associate head coach at Mississippi State. Jacoby has been on staff for four Round of 16 trips and has helped develop 12 All-SEC selections and eight NCAA individual tournament qualifiers. Ole Miss holds a younger roster this season with three freshmen, four sophomores and three seniors.
North Dakota (4-3)
History: Nebraska leads the series 5-0, with the most recent matchup coming in 2024 when the Huskers defeated North Dakota 7-0 in Lincoln.
After a 4-0 start to the season, North Dakota is now on a three-match losing streak while currently having nine away matches in a row before returning to Grand Forks, North Dakota on Feb. 20. The men’s and women's tennis head coach, Tom Boysen, is in his fifth year at North Dakota. Last season, UND had a record-breaking year, with the team setting a program record 18 wins and a second-place finish in the Summit League, including a 14-match win streak that took them into the Summit League Championship. This season, the Fighting Hawks hold a roster of four freshmen, one sophomore, two juniors and one senior.

Home duals will be hosted at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center, where parking and admission are free. Concessions will be available with no outside food and drink allowed.
