2025-26: Senior
In his final season with Nebraska, Leo Linquet previewed the spring season being named to the Big Ten Preseason Player to Watch List and showed that being one of the top singles and doubles players for the Nebraska lineup. The senior earned 14 doubles wins, the most on the team, including a 5-2 record when paired up with senior Joan Torres Espinosa. The pair together earned a No. 78 ranking after taking down No. 35 Alexander Bernard/Alex Okonkwo (Ohio State). In singles, Linquet posted 12 wins which came at third on the team with wins over Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Northwestern and Penn State. In the fall, Linquet obtained three wins at the Big Ten Individual Championships. Linquet and his partner Henry Lamchinniah achieved three wins in doubles in the Big Ten Tournament before dropping a match in the northeast semifinals.
2024-25: Junior
In his junior season, Linquet claimed 11 victories in both singles and doubles. The Husker was a consistent piece of the singles lineup, competing in the five and six slots. Linquet highlighted his regular season with wins over Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, as well as postseason victories against Washington and Baylor. The Husker’s win over Michigan's Nicholas Steiglehner clinched the team victory, as NU defeated the then #17 Wolverines. On the doubles side, the junior played with Joan Torres Espinosa, Henry Bilicic, Colson Wells and Lars Johann to tally a 7-9 spring record. In the fall, Linquet and Johann defeated #62 Nordby/Yang with a dominant 6-1 win at the Big Ten Individual Tournament.
Off the court, Linquet was named to his third Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
2023-24: Sophomore
Linquet had his best season yet in his Husker career, earning 14 singles and 14 doubles wins in his sophomore year campaign. The software engineering major passed 20 career victories in both singles and doubles, and consistently competed in the No. 3 doubles slot with senior Shunya Maruyama. Linquet went 5-1 in Big Ten singles, with wins over Wisconsin, Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana and Purdue in the regular season, and Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals. Linquet’s victory over Illinois’ Bowers helped push the Big Red to defeat #26 Illinois, advancing to the semifinals for the first time in program history. In the fall, Linquet and junior Calvin Mueller finished second in doubles play at the ITA Milwaukee Tennis Classic.
Off the court, Linquet was named to the 2024 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
2022-23: Freshman
Linquet joined the Nebraska tennis program in the spring, and found immediate success by winning his first collegiate match in Nebraska’s season-opener against Creighton. He spent the majority of the season in the No. 2 singles spot, where he finished the year with a 7-10 record. In doubles, Linquet posted an 8-7 record and played in the No. 1 doubles spot for the last seven matches going 4-2.
Off the court, he was named to the 2023 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
Before Nebraska
Linquet brings an impressive track record to Nebraska. In 2018, he was ranked No. 2 in Argentinian 18 and under rankings. His career high ranking in ATP singles is No. 1324 and No. 1546 in doubles.
Personal
The son of Gustavo López Linquet and Gabriela Lautersztein, Leo has one sister, Paula. Leo is majoring in software engineering.
