The Nebraska men’s tennis team dropped its match to Arkansas 4-0 on Sunday, Feb. 15 at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb. The Huskers fell to 7-2 on the season while Arkansas improved to 7-2.
In doubles play, the Huskers battled it out with the Razorbacks in two tiebreaker matches on court one and three. On court two, Jeri Lassila/Nikolay Sysoev (NEB) dropped their match to No. 31 Connor Smillie/Jakub Vrba (ARK), 3-6. On court three, Matt Shearer/Henry Lamchiniah (NEB) led 5-2 before their opponents Dmitry Kopilevich/Brendan Boland (ARK) came storming back forcing a tiebreaker. Kopilevich/Boland ended up taking the tiebreaker match 7-6 [7-5] and Arkansas won the doubles point.
The match between Colson Wells/Leo Linquet (NEB) vs. Ben Weintraub/Eric Padgham (ARK) was left unfinished at 6-6 all. Nebraska trailed 0-1 going into singles play.
As singles play began, Linquet dropped his match on court one to Lukas Palovic, 4-6, 0-6. After a 5-0 start in his singles record, Wells lost his first singles match vs. Gabriel Elicha Navas, 3-6, 4-6. On court one, three, five and six the Huskers battled in three, three-set matches and one second set tiebreaker. Sysoev battled on court one vs. No. 19 ranked Vrba but ultimately dropped the match in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 3-6. This secured the match for the Huskers as they fell to the Razorbacks, 4-0.
Courts three, five and six were left unfinished in singles play.

Nebraska will take the week off before taking on Oklahoma State on Friday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. (CT) at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln. The Huskers will then travel to Wichita, Kansas to take on Wichita State on Sunday, March 1 at 12 p.m. (CT).
