The Nebraska swimming and diving team will take on the Kansas Jayhawks on Friday, Nov. 7 at the Devaney Natatorium in Lincoln, Neb., with events beginning at 4 p.m. (CT).
The Huskers are coming off a 197-103 win over Iowa State. The victory over the Cyclones followed a double-dual split in Minneapolis with a setback to nationally ranked Minnesota and a 182-60 victory over South Dakota.
Nebraska outlasted Kansas 182-117 last November in Lawrence, which was the Big Red’s first victory over KU since Jan. 29, 1999.
The Huskers opened the 2025-26 season with 11 titles in a double-dual with Omaha and South Dakota State. Abby Baxter highlighted the competition through first-place finishes on the one- and three-meter boards with scores of 292.95 and 316.10. Gena Jorgenson and Beatrix Tanko both showed out, earning two individual titles apiece to cap the performance.
Against No. 24 Minnesota and South Dakota, Jorgenson completed two second-place finishes in the 1,000 free (9:59.22) and the 500 free (4:51.88). Sophomore Marissa Laurin added a pair of third-place finishes in the 200 IM (2:05.24) and the 200 back (2:02.15).
The next day, the Huskers secured 15 titles at Iowa State in their 197-103 win in Ames. Jorgenson, a two-time All-American from Aberdeen, S.D., garnered three first-place finishes. She competed in the 200 free (51.47), 500 free (4:57.14) and 400 IM (4:26.95). Virginia Consiglio, a sophomore from Genova, Italy, added a pair of first-place finishes in the 100 and 200 backstrokes.
Baxter dominated the diving well, taking first on both boards with NCAA Zone-qualifying scores. Kelsey Clairmont grabbed a second-place finish on the three-meter board, while fellow senior Frankie Webb added second on the one-meter board.
