The Nebraska men’s and women’s cross country teams set off to Stillwater, Oklahoma for NCAA Midwest Regionals on Nov. 14. The women competed on the 6k course first and placed 13th out of 32 teams with 413 points. The Husker men attacked the 10k course next and placed 28th with 777 points.
First across for the Husker women was Ali Bainbridge in 26th place with a time of 21:06.9. Up next for the women was Alexandra Joyce in 43rd with a 21:35.4. Jaylee Wingate (103rd, 22:26.5), Alea Hardie (125th, 22:43.2), and Berlyn Schutz (126th, 22:43.6) completed the scoring lineup for the team. Oklahoma State won the team competition with 55 points. Northwestern took second as a team with 86 points and Iowa State capped the podium with 108 points.
Denny Chapman led the way for the Husker men with 64th place and a time of 32:24.5. Grant Wasserman (167th, 34:27.7) and Gabe Nash (178th, 35:01.5) were next across the line for Nebraska. Kaleb Sharp (189th, 35:59.5) and Riley Boonstra (197th, 37:51.8) rounded out the men’s roster. First in the men’s team competition was Oklahoma State with 38 points. They were followed closely by Iowa State with 41 points. Oklahoma took third with 109 team points.
