The Nebraska men's tennis team will take on the ITA Regional Championships in Norman, Oklahoma (Oct. 8-12). Eight Huskers are set to compete at the tournament.
Huskers Henry Bilicic, Leo Linquet, Nikolay Sysoev and Joan Torres Espinosa, Henry Lamchinniah, Colson Wells, Jeri Lassila and Niels Van Der Sijs are entered for both open doubles and singles. The Big Red look to improve fall records and take on another chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
The open singles round will be a bracket of 64 on its way to the final. Singles play will begin Oct. 8 at 8 a.m., with each player starting at the main draw. Two singles finalists from each region will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship and the doubles champion from each region will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship. The doubles draw for the Central Region is still pending.
The Huskers have a quick turnaround as they will host the ATP 75 Lincoln Challenger this Sunday, Oct. 12 and it will run the whole week till Oct. 19 at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center.
