Husker Bowlers Honored for Academic Success

The Nebraska bowling team was honored this week as the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) and the Big Ten unveiled its 2024-25 academic award winners.

Anna Callan, Ashtyn Yoches, Desiree Buchert, Haley Swindle, Karina Capron, Kathryn Bowman, Kayla Starr, Kayla Verstraete and Lani Breedlove were recognized for outstanding academic performance posting a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or better during the 2024-25 academic year. 

As a team, the Big Red was named by the NTCA as an All-Academic team posting a cumulative team GPA of 3.20 or higher for the academic year. Nebraska was one of 49 programs to achieve this status and ranked in the top 20 in the country. 

Additionally, five Huskers (Bowman, Breedlove, Buchert, Jillian Martin, Verstraete and Yoches) were honored by the Big Ten conference earning Academic All-Big Ten honors. To be eligible, students must have been enrolled full time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative gpa of 3.0 or higher.
