Huskers Head to Indiana to Face No. 61 Purdue

West Lafayette, Ind. - The Nebraska women’s tennis team (10-7, 1-5 Big Ten) continues its conference road play as NU faces Purdue (10-7, 3-4 Big Ten) on Sunday, April 7, at 11 a.m. (CT). All links will be posted on huskers.com, and match updates will be on X/Twitter at HuskerWTennis.

Scouting Purdue

  • The Boilermakers are 10-7 on the season with their recent 4-1 victory over Michigan State and the 1-4 loss to #2 Michigan last weekend. 
  • In her 17th season as Head Coach at Purdue, Laura Glitz looks to even the team’s conference record (3-4) in their final home match versus Nebraska. 
  • Junior Carmen Guevara leads Purdue with a 23-4 singles record and in doubles, she is 10-3 in the spring season with partner Tara Milic. 

Series History vs. Purdue

  • Purdue leads the all-time series 6-4. Last season, the Boilermakers defeated Nebraska 1-4 in regular season play, but the Huskers defeated Purdue in the 2023 Big Ten Championship, 4-3. The Huskers then lost to Ohio State 1-4 in the quarterfinals. 

Quick Note

  • Raphaëlle Lacasse and Maja Pietrowicz are ranked No. 66 in doubles. The duo holds a 8-5 season record and are 6-3 in the spring, with matches being played in the No. 1 doubles spot. 

Numbers to Watch

  • Lacasse holds a 7-3 record on Court 1 after a six-match win streak.  
  • Freshman Maria Taranova leads the team with a 21-6 singles mark. Her 21 wins are the most for a freshman
  • since Patricia Veresova in the 2009-10 season. 
  • Senior Isabel Adrover Gallego is 57-59 in singles and is 58-41 in doubles, needing three singles victories and two doubles wins to surpass 60 total.
