Tominaga Helps West to All-Star Win

Keisei Tominaga closed his college career by helping the West team to an 87-75 win the Reese’s NABC College All-Star Game Friday afternoon.

Tominaga came off the bench and had nine points on 4-of-7 shooting and three rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench. The West squad out-scored the East, 48-31, after trailing by five at halftime.

Tominaga became the seventh Husker to participate in the event, joining Chuck Jura (1972), Rich King (1991), Eric Piatkowski (1994), Aleks Maric (2008), James Palmer Jr. (2019) and Derrick Walker (2023).

Friday’s performance capped a busy 24 hours for Tominaga, who won two events at the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships on Thursday.

Tominaga enjoyed his best season in 2023-24, averaging 15.1 points per game while posting career highs in nearly every offensive category en route to second-team All-Big Ten honors. His 76 3-pointers ranks eighth on NU’s single-season chart while he was sixth in the Big Ten in 3-pointers per game.  He had a career-high 31 points at Illinois, one of three career 30-point efforts as a Husker. A two-time All-Big Ten honoree, he totaled 1,074 points in three seasons at Nebraska and finished seventh on NU’s career 3-point list with 178.

His efforts helped Nebraska to a 23-11 record, a third-place Big Ten finish and the school’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014.
