Incoming Freshman Liang Captures Gold at Junior Pan American Games

Cali, COLOMBIA- Nebraska men's gymnastics signee Toby Liang competed at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games this past weekend in Cali, Colombia for Team USA. Liang finished with a high geared all-around performance, earning a bronze medal with a score of 76.350 and helping Team USA to a gold medal in the first night of competition. 

The Georgia native qualified for the floor, vault and pommel horse finals. Liang claimed the gold medal in the floor finals after notching a 13.400. He finished fourth on pommel horse with a score of 12.200. Liang finished the weekend on vault, earning a 13.433 to close in fourth place.

Liang highlights an impressive signing class and is set to compete in the 22-23 season with newcomers Jack Critz, Asher Cohen, Nathan York, James Friedman and Zac Tiderman.
