Huskers Remain Perfect in Beach Play

For the second straight day, the Nebraska beach volleyball team earned a sweep over Park University. The Huskers posted the 5-0 victory over the Pirates on Saturday morning at the Hawks Championship Center. 

All five Husker pairs won in straight sets. Riley Zuhn and Nicole Drewnick started the morning with a 21-5, 21-16 victory as the No. 5 pair. Callie Schwarzenbach and Hayley Densberger followed with a 23-21, 21-10 win at the No. 4 spot. NU's sophomore beach pair of Madi Kubik and Kenzie Knuckles posted a 21-18, 21-10 triumph to clinch the match in favor of the Huskers.

Lauren Stivrins and Nicklin Hames played as the No. 2 pair after playing at No. 1 on Friday night. The result was the same for the Husker captains, as they swept 21-9, 21-13. Finally, Jazz Sweet and Lexi Sun partnered at the No. 1 spot for a 21-17, 21-17 win. 

Nebraska (2-0) improved to 10-0 all-time in beach matches played at the Hawks Championship Center. The Huskers will host Missouri Baptist on Wednesday at 11 a.m. before a road trip to Fort Worth, Texas next weekend, where they will play six matches at the TCU Horned Frogs Challenge.
