Huskers Travel to Raleigh to Face Wolfpack

The No. 7 Nebraska rifle team travels to Raleigh, N.C., this weekend to take on No. 12 North Carolina State on Sunday, Feb. 2. Match action is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and fans can follow along on social media.

The Wolfpack enter Sunday's matchup with a 4-6 record on the season, defeating UT Martin last weekend. The shooter to watch for N.C. State is sophomore Emily Fisher.
 
Last Time Out - Huskers Have Record-Setting Day in Close Match Against No. 1 TCU
The Husker Rifle team fell to No. 1 TCU at the Nebraska Rifle Range on Senior Day, 4,709-4,686. Several Huskers fired career-high scores as the team earned the program's highest single-match score since 2014. Sophomore Elena Flake was the top individual shooter for the match but the Huskers fell short overall.
 
In smallbore Flake led the Huskers with a career-high 589, the highest smallbore score from any Husker this season and a new career-best for Flake. Hana Musser followed with 585, a new career-best, and Emily Cheramie added 581. Bailey Powell and Samantha Peterson fired 567 and 556, respectively, to round out the squadded scores. Shooting independently, Macey Way also set a new career-best score with 582.
 
Cheramie was out front for the Huskers in air rifle, firing a career-high 596. She was followed closely by Flake with 593 and Macey Way with 590. Peterson and Musser fired 586 and 579, respectively, to round out the squadded scores. Flake's total combined score of 1,182 was highest on the day for either team, beating runner-up Casey Lutz from TCU, who shot 1,179.
 
TCU fired a combined smallbore score of 2,334, led by Lutz's 585. The Frogs had four shooters above 580 in smallbore. In air rifle TCU shot 2,375. The Frogs were led by Kristen Hemphill, who fired 595.
