Freshman (2019-20)
Way stepped up in big ways right away for the Huskers as a freshman in 2019-20. Way competed 10 times in smallbore while appearing in all 14 matches in air rifle for Nebraska. Way posted a career-best score of 585 in smallbore and at the GARC Championships, Way claimed the bronze medal in smallbore. However, it was in air rifle that Way really made an impact for the team. Way averaged 591.71 - the highest air rifle average for a freshmen in Nebraska school history and the third-highest average among all classes. She shot at least 590 in all but two competitions for Nebraska and posted 596 against Navy which is one point shy of the school record. Way was recognized for her efforts by the NRA earning second-team all-America honors in air rifle. Off the range, Way was a CRCA Scholastic All-American and was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall. Additionally, Way earned a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for her efforts in the community.
