Boo at the Bob Set for Oct. 27

Family-Friendly Halloween Event Set to Kick Off Winter Sports Season

Lincoln – To get in the spirit of Halloween and to kick off the winter sports season, Nebraska Athletics has created Boo at the Bob on Thursday, Oct. 27, at Bob Devaney Sports Center. The event runs from 7-8:30 p.m.

The event, which is free to the public, will provide kids a fun place to trick or treat and play interactive games with Husker student-athletes throughout the Devaney Center. Some of the prizes include candy and event tickets to select Husker sports, while the first 900 kids in costume will receive a free candy bag, color changing cup and light-up safety bracelet.

Many of the Huskers’ 24 athletics programs are scheduled to be involved with the event, including the Husker men’s and women’s basketball programs. Other teams scheduled to participate will include football, soccer, baseball, softball, track and field, wrestling, bowling, swimming and diving, women’s golf, men’s gymnastics, cross country and women’s tennis.

Posters and schedule cards will be available for select sports and fans will be able to pick up the 2016-17 men’s basketball poster at the event.

Free parking in select Devaney Center lots will be available for the event (Lots 51, 52 and 55) and fans will enter the event through the main entrance at the Hendricks Training Complex. A parking map for the event is included with this release.

The Husker men’s team will open the 2016-17 season with an exhibition game against Chadron State on Monday, Nov. 7, at Pinnacle Bank Arena, while the Husker women, led by first-year coach Amy Williams, will host Southwest Baptist on Sunday, Nov. 6, at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
