NU Rifle Ranked No. 5

The Nebraska rifle team is ranked fifth on the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association Pre-season Poll, behind West Virginia, Alaska, TCU and Kentucky.   The Huskers finished the 2014-15 season with an overall record of 17-10, including a regular-season record of 7-5.

As a team, NU placed fourth at the 2015 NCAA Championships.  In individual competition, Rachel Martin claimed the 2015 smallbore title.

The Huskers return six shooters from last year: Rachel Martin, Denise Martin, Marissa Major, Alexandrea Lorentz, Magdalena Mical and Jaycee Carter.  In addition, the team welcomes five freshman: Katie Brown, Jordan Miller, Nina Radulovic, Rachel Yager and Hannah Virga.  Head coach, Ashley Rose-MacAllister, is joined this year by assistant coach Rick Johnson.

Nebraska kicks off the season on Oct. 10 when the team travels to Colorado to take on Air Force.  The match is set to begin at 8 am.

* This will be the score used until your first match is shot.

JSU 4684.67 rounded up to keep tie breaker correct.

Point totals were awarded in reverse order 20 points for a 1st place vote, 19 points for second, etc. This year we will use a place holder score, last year’s three match qualifying score, as a team’s first score until they shoot their first match. As we have done in the past, fall semester ranking will be based on a team’s highest score from the last weekend shot. The ranking week will run Monday – Sunday. The December 15th ranking will begin to use the three match score qualifying numbers.
