Game Notes
Nebraska moved a season-high six games above .500 with the win...NU has won 26 of its last 31 Big Ten games, including 15 of its last 17 home conference games...twelve of Nebraska's 24 victories this season have been run-rule wins...Kylee Muir had two doubles and four RBIs, tying her career high in doubles and matching her season high in RBIs.

Lincoln - A seven-run fifth inning powered the Nebraska softball team to a 10-2 run-rule victory over the Northwestern Wildcats on Friday at Bowlin Stadium.

Nebraska held a slim 3-2 lead entering the bottom of the fifth before batting around and scoring seven runs without an out being recorded. Fueled by its 15th inning of five-or-more runs this season, the Huskers improved to 24-18 on the season, moving a season-high six games above .500. Nebraska also moved in front of Northwestern and into third place in the Big Ten standings with an 11-4 mark in league play.

Senior Kylee Muir powered the Husker offense with a 2-for-3 day that included two doubles and a season-high four RBIs. Muir had a two-run double to open the scoring in the bottom of the second, and her two-run double opened the scoring in the decisive fifth inning. Sophomore MJ Knighten was the only other Husker with multiple RBIs, as her two-run single ended the game. It was a balanced effort from Nebraska's offense, as nine Huskers scored a run, eight had a hit and five drove in a run.

The strong offense backed another strong outing from junior right-hander Emily Lockman, who improved to 14-11 on the season with her eighth win in conference play. Lockman allowed two runs on four hits in a complete-game effort, fanning three while not issuing a walk.

Kristen Wood (9-7) took the loss for Northwestern, which fell to 20-16 overall and 8-4 in Big Ten play.

The Huskers struck first, plating three runs in the bottom of the second, after Lockman escaped a bases-loaded jam in the top of the frame with back-to-back strikeouts. Senior Steph Pasquale and junior Dawna Tyson drew back-to-back walks to begin the inning before Muir lined a 3-2 pitch to center for a two-run double that scored freshman pinch runner Taylor Otte and sophomore pinch runner Lotte Sjulin. Muir then scored on a two-out RBI single from junior Kiki Stokes.

Northwestern answered in the top of third. Sabrina Rabin led off with an infield single before Andrea DiPrima won a long at bat with a two-run homer to center that cut the lead to 3-2.

Neither team threatened again until the bottom of the fifth, when Nebraska loaded the bases with no outs on consecutive singles from junior Alicia Armstrong, Pasquale and Tyson. Muir then delivered again, this time driving a two-run double to the gap in left center to boost the Husker lead to 5-2. Freshman Kaylan Jablonski followed with a sharp, RBI single through the left side to score Tyson, and an error on the Wildcat left fielder also allowed Muir to score and give Nebraska a 7-2 advantage.

Sophomore Kat Woolman then walked before freshman Laura Barrow ripped an RBI double to left center. Stokes walked for a second straight plate appearance to load the bases before Knighten lined a walk-off, two-run single into left center.

Nebraska and Northwestern are scheduled to continue their series at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The World's Largest Softball Tailgate, which was set for 10 a.m., has been canceled due to the threat of inclement weather. Fans are encouraged to check Huskers.com for any potential updates on Saturday's game status.
