Huskers Head to Mizzou Invitational

Nebraska at Mizzou Invitational

Location: Mizzou Aquatic Center, Columbia, Mo.
Time: 10 a.m./6 p.m. (Thursday and Friday) 10 a.m./4 p.m. (Saturday)

The Nebraska swimming and diving team travels to Columbia, Mo., on Thursday, Nov. 20, for the Mizzou Invitational held at the University of Missouri's Mizzou Aquatic Center.  The squad will compete at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, with Saturday's competition taking place at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. A copy of the order of events for all three days can be found above in the related links section.

Nebraska will compete against Drury, Missouri S&T, New Mexico, Northern Colorado, Illinois, UNLV, Florida International, West Virginia and the meet hosts Missouri.

Following the squad's trip to Missouri, Nebraska will have nearly two weeks to prepare for the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa on Friday, Dec. 5.  Following Nebraska's trip to Iowa City, Nebraska will close out its fall competition with a  dual meet against Northern Iowa on Friday, Dec. 12.  The meet will take place at the Devaney Natatorium and begin at 5 p.m.

Last Time Out: Huskers Fall to Razorbacks

Despite victories from Alex Bilunas and Anna Filipcic, the Nebraska swimming and diving team dropped its non-conference battle with Arkansas on Saturday 190-106.

Bilunas earned Nebraska's first victory of the day, finishing the 50-yard freestyle in 23.91. Saturday's victory for Bilunas in the 50-yard freestyle was her second victory of the season in the event.

Filipcic captured Nebraska's second victory of the day in the one-meter dive.  Filipcic posted a first-place score of 283.65.  Nebraska swept the top two spots in the one-meter event with Nicole Schwery earning second with a score of 267.98.  Filipcic placed second in the three-meter dive posting a score of 316.05, while Schwery finished third with a score of 309.00.

Freshman Jordan Ehly earned two second-place finishes.  Ehly swam to a second place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.43) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:37.99).   Ehly also earned a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.10).

Rebekah Land, Katt Sickle and Bria Deveaux all captured second-place finishes on Saturday. Land earned her runner up finish in the 100-yard backstroke swimming to a time of 57.62.  Sickle finished second in the 500-yard freestyle racing to a time of 5:05.48.  Deveaux swam to a time of 57.13 to claim her second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly.

Jacqueline Juffer (100-yard backstroke), Sickle (1,000-yard freestyle), Aimee Fischer (500-yard freestyle), Erin Oeltjen (100-yard butterfly) and Julia Roller (400-yard individual medley) all captured third-place finishes against Arkansas.

In the relays, the Huskers took second in both events.  The 200-yard medley team of Juffer, Ehly, Deveaux and Bilunas finished with a time of 1:45.87, while the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Bilunas, Land, Kelly Dunn and Amanda Moran finished in 1:36.52.
