Amanda Moran had an excellent high school career at Lockport Township High School. She was a finalist at both the 2013 Sectional Championships and the 2013 Illinois High School State Championships. Moran earned all-state honors her sophomore, junior and senior years.
She was Most Valuable Performer for her team both as a junior and senior. Moran also swam at the 2013 Illinois Senior Championships for the Academy Bullets Swim Club, winning the 100-yard backstroke.
Personal
The daughter of Robert and Toni Moran, Amanda was born on Nov. 6, 1995, in Winfield, Ill. She has a younger sister, Stephanie, and an older brother, Kevin. Amanda has not declared a major at Nebraska. She chose Nebraska over West Virginia, Western Kentucky and Penn State.
