Nebraska vs. Iowa and South Dakota State

The Nebraska swimming and diving team hosts its second competition of the season, a double dual with Iowa and South Dakota State, on Friday, Nov. 15, at the Devaney Natatorium. The meet will begin at 4 p.m. CT.
The Huskers and Hawkeyes competed against each other three times in 2012-13. At the Hawkeye Invitational, Nebraska outscored Iowa by over a hundred points on its way to a second-place finish. Iowa took third, overall.
The second meeting between the two teams saw Iowa earn a close 191-179 dual-meet victory at the Northwestern Invitational, trimming Nebraska's all-time series lead to 6-5 in dual meets.
At the 2013 Big Ten Championships, Nebraska avenged its dual-meet loss, outscoring Iowa by 82 points. The two teams finished ninth and tenth, respectively, at the conference meet.
The Huskers also faced the Jackrabbits in a dual meet last season, earning a 177-106 victory in Brookings, S.D. The win pushed Nebraska's all-time record against South Dakota State to 9-0.
In 2013-14, Iowa has a 2-1 overall record through the first month of competition. The Hawkeyes started the season with wins against Michigan State and Northern Iowa before dropping a dual to the two-time defending Big Ten champions, Minnesota.
South Dakota State is off to a 3-3 start this season, earning October wins against Nebraska-Omaha and Northern Iowa, while dropping duals to North Dakota and Iowa State. At the beginning of November, the squad added a loss to Wisconsin-Green Bay before defeating in-state rival South Dakota.
Following Friday's meet, the Husker divers will have less than a week to prepare for their trip to Columbia, Mo., on Nov. 21 for the Mizzou Invitational. The Nebraska swimmers will travel to Topeka, Kan., the following day, Nov. 22, for the Kansas Classic.

Last Time Out: Huskers Dropped in Battle with Razorbacks (10/26/13)
Despite victories from junior Natalie Morris and freshman diver Anna Filipcic, the Nebraska swimming and diving team dropped its nonconference battle with Arkansas on Saturday 205-95.
Morris earned Nebraska's first victory of the day, finishing the 200-yard butterfly in 2:04.11. The junior won the event for the second time in as many meets for the Huskers. Morris would later add third-place finishes in both the 100 fly (57.71) and 200 IM (2:08.93).
Filipcic notched her second-straight victory in the one-meter dive, posting a score of 295.35. The freshman bettered her previous score of 279.30 that earned her a win in the event against Iowa State. Filipcic's second-place score of 289.88 in the three-meter dive also beat the score she earned against the Cyclones.
Shannon Guy and Taryn Collura both picked up a pair of second-place finishes for the Huskers on the day. Guy earned runner-up in the 100 breast (1:04.93) and 100 fly (57.09), while Collura took second in the 50 free (23.42) and 100 free (51.85).
Other top individual performers for the Huskers were Jacqueline Juffer, taking second in the 100 back (57.29), and Payton Michaud, garnering third in both the one- (253.43) and three-meter (273.15) dives.
In the relays, the Huskers took second in both events. The 200-yard medley relay team of Morris, Guy, Collura and Juffer finished with a time of 1:43.82, while the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Guy, Collura, Alex Bilunas and Bria Deveaux finished in 1:34.66.
For Arkansas, All-Americans Lauren Jordan (1,650 free and 200 back) and Nikki Daniels (100 and 200 breast) each won two events to lead the way. Anna Mayfield (100 back and 500 free), Nina Drolc (100 and 200 free) and Susanna White (50 free and 100 fly) also chipped in two wins apiece for the Razorbacks. Overall, Arkansas won 14 of the meet's 16 events en route to victory.
Last Time vs Iowa: Huskers Win One, Set Record at Northwestern (2/2/13)
The Nebraska swimming and diving team ended its regular season on Saturday with one win and two losses at the Northwestern Invitational held at Northwestern's Norris Aquatics Center. The Huskers won their dual meet against Northwestern by a score of 198-171 but fell to No. 15 Ohio State and Iowa by respective scores of 224-134 and 191-179.
With Saturday's results, Nebraska finished the regular season with a dual meet record of 12-3. Their 12 victories are a new school record, surpassing the 1986-87 and 1989-90 squads that finished with 11 wins. Eight was the previous season-best win total for Head Coach Pablo Morales.
The Huskers began the morning session with a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Hayley Martin, Shannon Guy, Natalie Morris, and Taryn Collura finished in a time of 1:43.01, less than a second behind Ohio State.
Shannon Guy then took second place in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in a time of 56.22 seconds. Morris, Collura and Bria Deveaux finished seventh, 11th and 12th, respectively, in the event. Guy would later add a sixth place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The squad also got a standout performance from Hayley Martin, as she took first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.33 seconds. Earlier, Martin placed third in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:51.17.
Nebraska concluded the morning session with a third place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The team of Martin, Morris, Bailey Pons, and Ellan Dufour finished behind two Ohio State squads.
In the evening session, Bailey Pons got things started with a runner-up finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Pons finished the race in a time of 17:03.95.
Martin and Morris captured a pair of fourth place finishes in the middle events to keep up the scoring for the Huskers. Martin finished the 200-yard backstroke in 2:03.31, while Morris swam the 200-yard butterfly in 2:05.36.
The Huskers got their second and final win of the day from Taryn Collura in the 100-yard freestyle. The redshirt freshman finished in a time of 50.56 seconds.
In the diving well, Payton Michaud, Amy Herman and Kailey Harmon finished sixth, eighth and tenth, respectively, in the one-meter dive.
In the meet's final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay, Nebraska earned second place. The team of Martin, Guy, Deveaux, and Collura finished 65 hundredths of second behind Ohio State with a time of 3:25.67.
Katie Davis, Morgan Flannigan, Ashley Reiter, Ellan Dufour, Kristin Strecker, Kelsey Larson, and Melisa Mexia were the other top-ten finishers for the Huskers on Saturday. Overall, the Huskers produced 35 top-ten finishes and two victories over the two days at the invitational.
Last Time vs South Dakota State: Huskers Swim Past Jackrabbits in Complete Team Effort (11/9/13)
The Nebraska swimming and diving team defeated South Dakota State 177-106 in Friday afternoon's meet at the Jackrabbits' HPER Center Pool. The Huskers are 9-0 on the season following the victory.
Eleven different Huskers combined to win thirteen of the fourteen individual events on the day. Nebraska also won both relays in the dominant performance against a South Dakota State team that they are now 9-0 against all-time.
Once again, senior Hayley Martin led the way with wins in the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.14) and 200-yard freestyle (1:53.32). Freshman Katt Sickle also added wins in the 200-yard individual medley (2:10.44) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:06.08).
Other Husker winners on the day were Bailey Pons, Bria Deveaux, Ashley Reiter, Natalie Morris, Taryn Collura, Payton Michaud, Kristin Strecker, Shannon Guy, and Kailey Harmon. Katie Davis, Ellan Dufour, Kelly Dunn, and Rebekah Land were also a part of winning relay teams, as the squad put forth a true team effort in the victory.
Senior Devonne Dalin got the lone victory for the Jackrabbits, winning the 100-yard freestyle in 53.58 seconds.
