The Big Ten Conference announced its Academic All-Big Ten squad for the winter season and seventeen Nebraska swimming and diving team members were among the honored.
616 athletes were honored during the winter season, including 221 women's swimmers and divers. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letter winners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
Among the honorees from Nebraska, senior Bobbi Balogh was selected to her third-consecutive all-conference team. Balogh was honored and included in the First-Team Academic All-Big 12 Team in both 2010 and 2011. Senior Mailene Leslie has also been honored during each of her seasons at Nebraska, earning First-Team Academic All-Big 12 accolades in 2009 and second-team honors in 2010 and 2011.
