A Message from Coach Cook

Dear Husker Volleyball Supporters,

Thank you again for all of your support as we are in the middle of the 2011 Nebraska volleyball season.

Playing in the Big Ten Conference has brought many changes for our program this year, but we are welcoming the competition and excited about the opportunities it is bringing us. We have been able to travel to new places, such as East Lansing, Mich., and Minneapolis, Minn., in order to take on some of the Big Ten's best. Our schedule has been challenging, but the team has proved to be resilient in staying undefeated in conference games.

Individually, Gina Mancuso and Hannah Werth have collected conference honors during Big Ten play. Mancuso was named the Co-Big Ten Player of the Week on Sept. 26 for her efforts against Penn State and Ohio State in our first weekend of conference matches. Werth was recently named the Big Ten Player of the Week on Oct. 17 after posting two double-doubles at Wisconsin and Minnesota.

This weekend we face No. 1 Illinois at the NU Coliseum on Saturday before we hit the road next weekend to take on Ohio State on Friday, Oct. 28 and Penn State on Saturday, Oct. 29.

Once again, your support is what makes Nebraska volleyball so special and we thank you for proving that there truly is no place like Nebraska.
