Huskers Lead at Fairway Club Invitational

Nebraska City, Neb. - The Nebraska men's golf team leads the Fairway Club Invitational by nine strokes after posting rounds of 300 and 292 at ArborLinks Golf Course on Monday.

The Huskers' 592 total after two rounds leads Missouri State's 601 after day one. The final 18 holes will tee off Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun.

Sophomore Manuel Lavin paced Nebraska with a 143 on the first day. Lavin followed up a first-round 73 with a 2-under-par 70 to put him in second place overall. The Mexico native matched his career-low round, which was also shot at ArborLinks in last year's tournament.

A pair of Huskers are tied for sixth as Scott Willman and Neil Dufford posted 146. Willman scored an opening nine 44 before rolling off scores of 35, 33 and 34 in his final 27 holes. His second round 67 marks his career-low as a Husker. Dufford carded an even-par 72 in the opening 18 holes before a 2-over-par 74 in the second round.

Senior Austin Zimmerman is tied for 31st after producing rounds of 76 and 81 on Monday. England native Ross Dickson posted 80 and 85 in his Husker debut and sits in a tie for 57th after the first day. 

Husker individuals Jordan and Josh Reinertson shot 162 and 176, respectively. Jordan carded rounds of 82 and 80, while his younger brother posted 89 and 87. 

Missouri State's Daily Young leads the individual competition after firing 67 and 74 in the first two rounds.
