Huskers to Celebrate 10-year Anniversary of 2001 College World Series Team

The Nebraska baseball program will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the school's first College World Series team this weekend when the Huskers host Baylor at Hawks Field.

On Saturday, fans will have a chance to pick up a free re-print of the "Buck to the Blatt" poster that was created during the 2001 season, recognizing the 50-16 Huskers that qualified for the first CWS in school history.

Three members of the 2001 team (Jeff Blevins, Jeff Leise, Thom Ott) are scheduled to throw out honorary first pitches for each of the three games this weekend. Those players, in addition to other members of the team, will be available for a pregame autograph signing from 12:45-1:30 p.m., prior to Saturday's game.

Fans are encouraged to arrive to Saturday's game early, as the 2001 team will also be honored with a pregame video and introductions at 1:45 p.m.
