Fort Worth, Texas - The Nebraska rifle team had its five-match winning streak come to an end with a 4,651-4,615 loss at TCU on Saturday.
Ryann McGough led the Huskers at TCU by tying the Horned Frogs' Emily Lorenzen for third in air rifle with a 587, while adding a 569 in the smallbore.
Christine Costello led Nebraska in smallbore with a 581 to post the second-best score in the event on the day, trailing only a 588 fired by TCU's Sarah Scherer. In addition to winning the smallbore, Scherer also captured the air rifle crown with a 594, well ahead of teammate Simone Riford's 588.
Husker Joyce Kim recorded a solid 584 in air rifle, while Janine Dutton notched a 580 and Katie Kostal managed a 573 to give Nebraska a total of 2,324 in the air rifle. TCU posted a 2,353.
NU added a 2,291 in the smallbore, just seven points back of TCU's 2,298 in the event. Dutton fired a 573 to trail only Costello among the Huskers, while Amanda Jeffries finished at 568.
Nebraska returns home to take on Alaska-Fairbanks on Monday, Nov. 30, with an 8 a.m. start at the NU Rifle Range.
