The Nebraska baseball team concludes its five-day road swing tonight, as the Huskers take on Wichita State. First pitch from Eck Stadium is set for 7 p.m. and fans in the Omaha area can watch tonight’s game on Ch. 122 on Cox Cable. Nebraska, which has played three games in the last two days because of inclement weather in Oklahoma, is 16-10-1 on the season after dropping the rubber match of the series with No. 11 Oklahoma on Monday. The Shockers (13-10) also dealt with the winter snowstorm, losing the final two games of their Missouri Valley Conference series at Bradley over the weekend.

Fans across Nebraska can listen to Greg Sharpe and Lane Grindle call the action on selected Husker Sports Network stations, including KLIN 1400 AM in Lincoln, KRVN 880 AM in Lexington and KFAB 1110 AM in Omaha. In addition, 55 regular-season games in 2009 will be carried on Huskers.com.

The Huskers look to rebound tonight after dropping 2-of-3 games at No. 11 Oklahoma on Sunday and Monday. NU, which has played eight of its last 10 games against teams ranked in the top-15 nationally, is fourth in the Big 12 in hitting with a .303 team batting average. Junior first baseman Tyler Farst leads the offense with a .383 average with two homers and 24 RBIs, while junior college transfer Adam Bailey is hitting at a .333 clip with team bests in both homers (nine) and RBIs (33), ranking among the Big 12 leaders in both categories. One strength of NU’s lineup is depth, as NU has four starters hitting at least .300 while four other regulars are also above the .300 mark. The Huskers have hit 28 homers on the season with 14 players belting at least one. On the mound, sophomore Joe Broekemeier makes his first career start tonight while NU will likely use several pitchers in short pre-determined stints against the Shockers.

3 Things to Watch

1. Tyler Farst was named Big 12 Player of the Week on Monday after hitting .500 (9-for-18) with a homer and nine RBIs in four games last week. Farst then continued his hot streak with a pair of hits in Monday’s series finale at OU and has hit safely in nine straight games.

2. Freshman Boomer Collins has been the hottest Husker of late, hitting .526 with a homer and seven RBIs in his last five appearances

3. Jeff Tezak’s two-homer game on Sunday at Oklahoma marked his first homers since Feb. 29, 2008

Scouting Wichita State
Wichita State comes into tonight follow a three-day break as the final two games of its series at Bradley were snowed out. The Shockers are 13-10 overall following a 5-2 win over Bradley on Friday afternoon.

Taylor Brown leads the Shocker offense with a .431 average and 11 runs scored in 20 games. He is one of four WSU hitters above .300. Ryan Jones is hitting .311 with 16 RBIs, while also stealing 11 bases in 12 tries. Clinton McKeever is the Shockers’ primary offensive threat as he enters tonight’s game with a .287 average with a pair of homers an 20 RBIs.

On the mound, left-hander Brian Flynn makes his fifth start of the season and is 1-1 with a 4.58 ERA. Flynn has fanned 26 over 19.1 innings of work and is holding opponents to a .231 batting average. He is expected to go only a couple of innings, as the Shockers will likely throw several pitchers at NU this evening.

Series History: The two teams have split their 40 all-time meetings with the Huskers winning four of the last five meetings dating back to the 2004 season, including a 3-0 shutout in Lincoln on April 15, 2008. The Huskers’ last win in Eck Stadium came in 2005, when NU posted a 4-2 victory.

Last Season: Behind a strong performance from Erik Bird, Nebraska blanked fifth-ranked Wichita State at Hawks Field. Bird and Zach Herr combined on a four-hit shutout, while Mitch Abeita and Nick Sullivan had RBI singles in the bottom of the first inning to give NU all the offense it needed. The Huskers got strong efforts from Bird, who went a career-high 6.2 innings with four strikeouts for his second win, and Herr, who picked up his second save with 2.1 innings of one-hit relief, as only one Shocker runner reached third all night.

Last Time Out
Sunday Game 1 (Oklahoma 12, Nebraska 9) - Jeff Tezak went 3-for-4 with two homers and a season-high four RBIs, but Nebraska lost a 12-9 slugfest to No. 11 Oklahoma in the first game of Sunday’s twinbill. Tezak became the first Husker record a two-homer game this season after not hitting any since February of 2008, as Nebraska belted out five homers, its highest single-game total since the 2006 campaign and most in a conference game since 2000. DJ Belfonte also had three hits, including a homer, for the Huskers, who finished with 12 hits including homers from Nick Sullivan and Boomer Collins. Unfortunately for the Big Red, the Sooners also rapped out 12 hits, including homers from J.T. Wise, Cameron Seitzer and Casey Johnson as they jumped out to a 6-1 lead after two innings and never trailed.

Sunday Game 2 (Nebraska 11, Oklahoma 9) ? Tyler Farst had four hits and three RBIs, leading Nebraska to an 11-9 victory over No. 11 Oklahoma Sunday evening. Farst paced Nebraska’s season-high 18-hit attack with his first career four-hit day, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs, as the Huskers snapped Oklahoma’s 16-game home win streak dating back to last May. Cody Asche homered and drove in a career high four runs, while Nick Sullivan had two hits and a pair of RBIs for the Huskers, who jumped out to a 10-5 lead only to see Oklahoma pull within two runs and load the bases in the ninth. Jordan Roualdes earned his fourth straight win, scattering six hits over five innings, while Mike Nesseth preserved the win by going the final 2.2 innings and getting the Huskers out of a pair of dicey situations.

Monday (Oklahoma 16, Nebraska 6) - No. 11 Oklahoma powered its way to a series win, belting out seven homers in a 16-6 victory over the Huskers Monday afternoon. On an afternoon with winds gusting out to left and center, the Sooners took advantage of the conditions, as Aaron Baker went 2-for-5 with two homers and five RBIs, including a key two-run first-inning homer that spotted the Sooners an early lead. Six different Sooners homered on the afternoon, as Casey Johnson homered and drove in three runs, while Garrett Buechele, Bryant Herandez and J.T. Wise all homered and plated a pair of runs. Kyle Bubak led NU with three hits, while Tyler Farst, who was named Big 12 Player of the Week earlier today, went 2-for-3. Boomer Collins drove in a pair of runs, as Nebraska scored four times to pull within 14-6 in the seventh, but could not get any closer.

Leading Off

?-Jeff Tezak’s two-homer day marked the first by a Husker this season and the first since Jake Opitz had two homers against Eastern Illinois in the 2008 NCAA Lincoln Regional.

?-Nebraska’s five homers in the series opener at No. 11 Oklahoma on Sunday was NU’s highest single-game total since belting out five against Nebraska-Kearney on April 19, 2006, and the most by the Huskers in a Big 12 game since hitting five homers against Texas A&M on April 22, 2000.

?-When Cody Asche and Jed Hanson belted back-to-back homers in the nightcap against No. 11 Oklahoma on Sunday, it marked the first time it had happed for the Huskers since Andy Gerch and Jake Opitz accomplished the feat on May 12, 2007.

?-With his homer against Northern Colorado on Wednesday, Jed Hanson became the first Husker to homer in his first career at-bat in over a decade. Hanson, who had not appeared in NU’s first 23 games, homered on the first pitch he faced on Wednesday. Hanson had two more hits, including his second homer of the year, in his second start of the year on Sunday.

?-Junior college transfer Kyle Bubak has made the most of his opportunities at the top of the Husker lineup. Since moving into the leadoff spot on March 4, Bubak is hitting .363 with a homer, 11 RBIs and 26 runs scored. The Husker offense has also made significant improvement in that span, averaging nearly nine runs per game over the last 18 contests.

Prior to Bubak’s move to the top of the lineup, NU’s leadoff hitters were hitting a combined .154 in the first nine contests.

?-Nebraska has shown the ability to score runs in bunches. The Huskers have already plated five runs in an inning 10 times through the first 27 games of the season, eclipsing the team’s entire 2008 total of seven in 59 contests. Here is a look at the Huskers’ biggest innings this spring.

?-Nebraska already has 10 come-from-behind wins among its 16 victories, including six wins where the Huskers had to overcome at least a three-run deficit. The seven-run comeback against Northern Colorado on March 24 equaled the Huskers’ largest comeback since the 2000 season, when NU overcame a 10-0 defict against Iowa State. NU now has 109 come-from-behind wins under Mike Anderson since 2003.

?-The second and eighth innings have been the keys to the Huskers’ success this year. NU is out-scoring opponents 33-16 in the second inning and have plated 41 runs in the eighth inning, compared to just 21 for opponents.

?-Nebraska has shown a flare for the dramatic in 2009, winning five games in its last at-bat, including four runs in the bottom of the eighth in a 14-13 win over Northern Colorado on March 24.

?-Nebraska hitters have taken a beating, as the Huskers have been hit by 44 pitches through the first 27 games. At the current pace, NU hitters are on pace to get hit 90 times during the 55-game regular-season schedule. DJ Belfonte has now been hit 38 times to move into sole possession of second place on NU’s career list. He is also joined by Nick Sullivan (34, fourth) and Jake Mort (32, sixth).

?-The Huskers have reached double figures in runs 10 times this season and are fast approaching the team’s entire 2008 total of 12.

?-NU has enjoyed a youth movement in 2009, as 15 players have seen their first action as Huskers this season. The group includes eight freshmen, five junior college transfers and a pair of sophomores who did not play because of injuries the past two years.

?-Nebraska is 1-1-1 this year in extra frames and 15-9-2 (.615) in extra-inning contests since 2003. The highest amount of extra-inning games in a season this decade is five, set in 2001, 2005, 2006 and 2008.

?-Nebraska set a school and Big 12 record in the opener against UL-Lafayette, as five Husker pitchers combined for 22 strikeouts, breaking the school and conference mark of 21 set at Iowa State on April 18, 1999. Three of the top five strikeout performances have been under pitching coach Eric Newman over the past two seasons.

?-Since the NCAA went to the 64-team format in 1999, Nebraska has made nine NCAA Tournament appearances, which ties for seventh nationally in that time period. The only teams to earn more bids than Nebraska in that span are Cal State Fullerton, Florida State, Miami, Oral Roberts, Rice and Texas.

?-Nebraska is the only Big 12 program to win at least 40 games in eight of the past 10 years, including three 50-win seasons.

?-With his 12-strikeout effort against Sam Houston State on Feb. 28, Michael Nesseth joined an exclusive list of Husker pitchers. The only NU hurlers to fan more hitters in a game this decade are Shane Komine (5 times), Joba Chamberlain (twice), Johnny Dorn and Zach Kroenke (one time each).

?-Nebraska has won 131 of its last 132 games when taking a lead into the ninth inning and is 131-0-1 in that stretch dating back to the 2005 season. NU is 226-3-1 (.985) when leading after eight innings under Mike Anderson.

?-The Huskers are 47-1 dating back to last season when they out-hit an opponent. The only time over the last two years NU has lost when out-hitting an opponent was on Feb. 21, when the Huskers out-hit UL-Lafayette, 3-2, but lost 2-1.

?-The Huskers are now 92-1 under Mike Anderson when reaching double figures in runs, including 64-0 since the start of the 2005 season.

?-NU is 16-4-1 when getting at least 10 hits this season, but winless in the six games without reaching double figures in hits.

?-Adam Stern represented Team Canada in the 2009 World Baseball Classic earlier this month. Stern, who played at Nebraska from 1999 until 2001, went hitless in two pinch-hit appearances, as Canada fell to the U.S. (6-5) and Italy (6-2).

?-NU Head Coach Mike Anderson became the third Husker skipper to reach 100 conference wins with his victory over No. 11 Oklahoma State on March 20. Anderson, who is now 102-68-1 in Big 12 games, became the fastest Husker manager to reach that plateau.

Farst Recieves Big 12 Weekly Honor

Junior first baseman Tyler Farst was honored Monday, as the Big 12’s Player of the Week. Farst hit .500 with a homer, nine RBI and six runs scored in a four-game week, as four of his eight hits went for extra bases. He led the Huskers to their biggest comeback in six seasons against Northern Colorado on March 24, going 2-for-3 with a homer and five RBIs to help erase a 10-3 deficit. Farst closed the week with his first career four-hit game, posting a 4-for-5 outing with a double, three RBI and two runs scored in an 11-9 win that snapped OU’s 16-game home win streak dating back to last season.

Bashing with Bailey

Junior college transfer Adam Bailey has gotten off to a blistering start, as the outfielder has become one of the Big 12’s top performers early in 2009. He has a .333 batting average with nine homers and 33 RBIs entering Tuesday’s game against Wichita State. He is second in the league in homers and fourth in RBIs and total bases (71).

Bailey, who tops the Huskers in both multi-hit (13) and multi-RBI (eight) contests, saw his 13-game hit streak snapped against Oklahoma State on Sunday. He hit .406 with six homers and 23 RBIs in that stretch. He has showed the ability to drive in runs in bunches, totaling six games with at least five RBIs, including a season-high six RBIs against North Dakota on Feb. 25.

What a Difference a Year Makes

After struggling to get at-bats for most of the 2008 season, first baseman Tyler Farst has been one of the Huskers’ most consistent hitters this spring. Through his first 41 games, he had a .179 average with three RBIs before earning a spot in the lineup after Craig Corriston’s knee surgery. Since then, Farst has been hitting at a .365 clip with four homers and 36 RBIs in his last 40 games dating back to last May.

This season, he is hitting a team-high .383 with two homers and 24 RBIs, ranking seventh in the league in hitting and second with a team-high 11 doubles. Farst, who has hit safely in 20 of his last 21 contests dating back to Feb. 28, has been on a tear of late, hitting .444 with a homer, five doubles and 12 RBIs during his current nine-game hit streak. He went 7-for-12 with three doubles and three RBIs against Oklahoma, including his first career four-hit game on March 29. It was the second time this week he established a personal best as he drove in a career-high five runs, highlighted by his first grand slam, against Northern Colorado on March 24.

Sullivan Named to Senior Watch List

Nebraska left fielder Nick Sullivan was selected as one of 30 candidates for the 2009 Lowe’s Senior Class Award announced on March 19. Presented annually to NCAA Division I student-athletes in eight sports, the award focuses on the "Four C’s" of classroom, character, community and competition.

A two-year starter, Sullivan is hitting .284 with two homers and 15 RBIs this season. He is second on the team in both walks (17) and on-base percentage (.449) while he has been hit a team-high nine pitches. Sullivan is hitting .372 with two homers and 10 RBIs in his last 10 games.

In addition to his success on the diamond, he is a two-time academic All-Big 12 selection who carries a 3.78 GPA in finance. He has been named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in all nine semesters at Nebraska and is a two-time first-team Academic All-District VII selection.

The Kids Can Play

The Huskers have relied on a talented group of freshmen who have emerged during the first month of the season, as Nebaska has started as many as four freshmen at times. It is the highest number of freshmen who have started games since Mike Anderson took over in 2002.

Cory Burleson has split time with senior Cody Neer behind the plate. Burleson, a native of Midland, Texas, is hitting .313 with six RBIs in 18 games. He has four multi-hit games and went 6-for-11 with four RBIs at the Sam Houston State tournament earlier in March.

Cody Asche has been a full-time starter at third base, as Jake Mort battled knee and hamstring issues. Asche, who hails from O’Fallon, Mo., is hitting a .333 with two homer and 14 RBIs. He has six multi-hit games, including a 2-for-3 effort with a career high four RBIs in a win at No. 11 Oklahoma on March 29.

Khiry Cooper has seen time in all three outfield spots, making 13 starts through the first 24 games. A fifth-round draft pick of the LA Angels of Anaheim, Cooper is hitting .283 with a homer and six RBIs. He had a season-high three hits, including his first career homer, against UL-Lafayette on Feb. 22 and went 2-for-4 in two appearances against Texas Tech. Cooper also plays wide receiver for the Husker football team.

Kale Kiser has been used at second base and designated hitter, where he is hitting .227 with a homer and five RBIs in 13 games. Kiser had two hits, including his first career homer, and two RBIs in NU’s win over Missouri State on Feb. 27, and came off the bench for a key pinch-hit RBI single against Northern Colorado on March 24.

Boomer Collins is also seeing extensive action since returning to the lineup following a broken thumb on Feb. 21. Collins is hitting .355 with a homer and seven RBIs in his last 13 games, upping his average to .343 on the season. Last week, Collins has three multi-hit games in his last five starts, including a pair of three-hit days.

Kash Kalkowski has been one of the Huskers’ go-to relievers, going 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA in 12 appearances. He earned his first career win with two shutout innings against Missouri State on Feb. 27 and then started at designated hitter in the tournament finale against the Bears.

Nesseth Anchors Husker Pitching Staff

Sophomore Mike Nesseth has lived up to the early billing this season. The right-hander is 3-1 with a save and a 3.34 ERA in 10 appearances. He is ninth in the Big 12 in strikeouts (43) and is holding foes to a .217 average over 35 innings of work. He started the first four weeks of the season before moving into the closer’s role on March 18. Since then, he has appeared in five games, collecting a win at No. 15 Arkansas on March 18 and his first save of the year against Northern Colorado on March 25. Nesseth went the final 2.2 innings to preserve NU’s 11-9 win at No. 11 Oklahoma on March 29.

As a starter, he went at least six innings in all four outings, highlighted by a complete-game victory over Cal State Northridge on March 6, where he fanned seven in a 9-3 win.He was dominant against Sam Houston State on Feb. 28, tossing six shutout innings, scattering three hits and recording a career-high 12 strikeouts.

Nesseth Ranked Among Top Prospects

Sophomore right-hander Mike Nesseth is rated by Baseball America as one of the top 100 prospects for this June’s Major League Baseball Draft. Nesseth, who went 4-1 with four saves and a 3.58 ERA last season, is rated as the No. 29 college prospect and No. 63 overall prospect by the publication. Nesseth was also ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the Northwoods League over the summer by Baseball America. He was also ranked as the No. 19 sophomore in the country by the publication.

Huskers at Home at Hawks Field

Nebraska has enjoyed the comforts of Hawks Field since moving into the ballpark in 2002. The Huskers are 182-47-1 (.793) since the ballpark opened in 2002, including a 9-2 mark mark this year. In 2008, Nebraska went 29-5-1 (.843) at Hawks Field, as its 28 regular-season home wins were the second-best total in school history.

Let’s Play Two...at Hawks Field

The Huskers have been tough in doubleheaders at Hawks Field in recent years. Nebraska has now recorded 10 consecutive home doubleheader sweeps dating back to 2004 following the sweep of Cal State Northridge on March 7.

Bailey Earns Big 12 Honor

Junior Adam Bailey picked up an honor from the Big 12 Conference on March 2, as he was chosen as the league’s Player of the Week. He became the first Husker to be chosen Big 12 Player of the Week since Nick Sullivan last March.

Bailey hit .333 with three homers and 10 RBIs in five games, as six of his seven hits went for extra bases. He went 3-for-5 with a career-high six RBIs against North Dakota on Wednesday, as his RBI total was the most by a Husker in three years. Bailey had two hits, including a homer and a two-run triple, in Nebraska’s 14-12 comeback against Missouri State. Against Sam Houston State Feb. 28, Bailey homered for the third time in four games and also went the final three innings on the mound to record his first save.

Three Named to All-Tournament Team

Three Husker baseball players were honored on March 1, as Cory Burleson, Adam Bailey and Mike Nesseth were named to the Hillcrest Ford/Bearkat Baseball Classic All-Tourney team.

Burleson led the Huskers with a .545 average, going 6-for-11 with four RBIs in four games. He became the first Husker freshman since 2005 to record a four-hit game, going 4-for-5 with a pair of RBIs against Sam Houston State. In his first start of the weekend, Burleson went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and scored twice in a 14-12 victory over Missouri State.

Bailey was chosen as the utility player, hitting .250 with two homers and four RBIs while also pitching three innings of relief for a save against Sam Houston State. Bailey went 2-for-5 with a homer and a triple against Missouri State on Friday, as his two-run hit provided the Huskers with the margin of victory in a 14-12 win. Against SHSU, Bailey homered and then fired three innings of two-hit ball to collect his first save.

Nesseth was dominant against Sam Houston State, tossing six innings of shutout baseball in NU’s 8-1 win over the Bearkats. He established a career high with 12 strikeouts and allowed three singles in matching the longest outing of his career.

Many Happy Returns

A trio of Huskers who ended the 2008 season on the shelf have returned to form this spring.

Jeff Tezak, who played in just seven games last year before knee surgery on a torn left ACL, is hitting .306 with two homers and 17 RBIs while splitting time between second base and designated hitter. He leads the team in walks with 18 and is second on the squad with a .439 on-base percentage. Two years ago, he was a second-team All-Big 12 performer at designated hitter with a .335 average, while adding three homers and 37 RBIs.

Left-hander Eric Rose, who missed all of last season with a shoulder injury, has been impressive early on, going 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA in a Big 12 leading 15 appearances. He has allowed just three of 19 inherited runners to score and enjoyed a stretch where he allowed one run over six appearances. Rose has shown the ability to pitch multiple times in a series, tossing five shutout frames over three days against Oklahoma State two weeks ago. Rose earned the win in NU’s 15-inning season opener at UL-Lafayette on Feb. 20 and then coming back a day later to throw the final two innings to preserve a 9-8 win.

Joe Broekemeier, who missed the last two years with injuries, has not allowed an earned run in fiveappearances, spanning 6.1 innings of work He collected his first win as a Husker in Tuesday’s win over Northern Colorado by pitching a perfect eighth inning.

Double Duty for Bailey

Adam Bailey did something that no other Husker had done in 14 seasons against UL-Lafayette on Feb. 21. He became the first Husker player to earn a victory and hit a homer in the same game since Alvie Shepherd accomplished the feat against Kansas on April 5, 1995. Bailey entered the game as a reliever in the top of the fourth and fanned three over 2.2 innings of two-hit relief. He moved to right field for the final three innings, going 1-for-2 with a ninth-inning homer that was the final margin of victory in a 9-8 win.

Having a Day

Junior Adam Bailey put together a home debut to remember in Nebraska’s home opener against North Dakota on Feb. 25, going 3-for-5 with a homer and six RBIs. His six RBIs were the second-highest total for a Husker since Mike Anderson took over the Husker program in 2003 and the highest single-game total by a Husker since 2007.

Huskers to Be Tested Again in 2009

A total of 19 games against NCAA Tournament teams and 30 home games at Hawks Field highlight the 2009 Nebraska baseball schedule. The Huskers will be tested by a schedule that sees the Huskers play 17 of their 55 regular-season games against teams ranked in Baseball America’s top-25 preseason poll. The list includes Big 12 weekend series at No. 1 Texas A&M and against No. 4 Texas, No. 8 Baylor and No. 10 Missouri at Hawks Field.

Huskers Tabbed for Seventh in Big 12

The Nebraska baseball team was picked to finish seventh in the Big 12 Conference preseason poll by a vote of the league coaches released on Feb. 17. The Huskers totaled 38 points in voting by the league’s coaches. In 2008, the Huskers were picked sixth in the preseason poll and finished in third place in the final league standings, staying in contention for the league’s regular-season title until the final weekend of the year. Nebraska has finished fourth or better in five of the last six years under Head Coach Mike Anderson, including regular-season titles in 2003 and 2005.

Texas A&M was the choice of the league’s coaches, garnering 81 points in the preseason voting and nine of the 10 first-pace votes. Texas was the second choice, as the Longhorns received 69 points. Baylor and Oklahoma State tied for third with 59 points, while Missouri (51) and Oklahoma (42) placed fifth and sixth. Each of the league’s top six teams has been ranked in the top 20 by at least one national preseason poll.

Switching Things Up

One of the things that is evident on the 2009 roster is an abundance of switch hitters. In all, Nebraska has six position players (Kyle Bubak, Cory Burleson, Kale Kiser, Jed Hanson, Jeff Tezak and Cody Neer) listed as switch hitters, which is believed to be the most in school history. Prior to this year, Nebraska has had only four switch hitters on a roster this decade - and no more than two in any year - since having four in 1985.

Husker Homes

The 2009 Huskers come from 14 states across the nation. Nebraska natives comprise nearly a third of the 34-man opening-day roster with 11 spots, while Texas, Missouri and Minnesota also claim at least three Huskers apiece.

Husker Baseball on Television

Nebraska will get plenty of television exposure this year, as a minimum of six games will be televised this spring. NU’s game at Arkansas on March 17 was televised on Cox Sports, while five other contests have been selected by NET.

The 2009 NET telecast schedule begins on Tuesday, April 7, as the Huskers host Creighton in the first of three matchups between the programs this season. The first Big 12 matchup is on Thursday, April 9, as the Huskers and nationally ranked Texas open a three-game series in Lincoln.

Among the Nation’s Best

Nebraska Coach Mike Anderson begins the 2009 season in 12th place in winning percentage among all active coaches. He joins Texas’ Augie Garrido and Kansas State’s Brad Hill as the only three Big 12 coaches among the top-15 nationally in winning percentage.

Success in the Classroom

NU enjoyed a strong performance in the classroom by posting a team GPA of 3.089 during the fall semester. The team GPA was the highest in tracking the program’s GPA over the last 20 years. A total of 18 Huskers were named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the fall semester, including DJ Belfonte, who posted a perfect 4.0 GPA. In addition, senior outfielder Nick Sullivan has been on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll at nine semesters at Nebraska.
