No. 3 Huskers Open 2008-09 Campaign

The No. 3 Nebraska bowling team will open its 2008-09 season this weekend at the Warhawk Classic in Fort Atkinson, Wis. The three-day tournament, held at Rock River Lanes, is slated to begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7. The competition will continue Saturday at noon and will conclude Sunday afternoon.

The Huskers hope to earn back-to-back Warhawk Classic titles after topping the competition at last season’s tournament.

The traveling team for the Warhawk Classic includes senior Kaleena Henning, junior Cassie Leuthold, sophomores Jasmine Laugerman, Katie Ann Sopp and Kayla Stram, and freshmen Valerie Calberry and Danielle Van Der Meer.

After the Warhawk Classic, the Huskers will travel to Chicago, Ill., for the Maverick Challenge on Nov. 13-15, and will conclude their fall season at the Capital City Collegiate Classic at Jackson, Miss., on Dec. 5-7. NU will return to action on Jan. 16 at the Mid-Winter Classic in Jonesboro, Ark., before playing in three more regular season tournaments. The NCAA Championship will be held on April 9-11 at Canton, Mich.
