Sao Paolo, Brazil ? Husker sophomore-to-be Dax Danns took home the title in the 200-meter dash at the South American Junior Championships in Sao Paola, Brazil on Sunday, July 1. Danns turned in a time of 21.27 for the win and also finished third in the 100-meters with a time of 10.48.
A native of Guyana, Danns competed in the meet as a representative of his home country, and will remain in Brazil this week as he takes on the 2007 Pan American Games, which are also held in Sao Paola, beginning on Friday, July 6.
Danns will meet up with fellow Huskers Scott Wims in Brazil, as Wims qualified for the Pan Am Games in both the 100- and 200-meters, after finishing second in the 100-meter dash and taking the title in the 200-meters at the U.S. Junior Championships earlier this month in Indianapolis.
