Las Vegas - The Nebraska women's golf team slipped one spot in the team standings to finish in 11th place after shooting a 317 in the final round at the 18-team UNLV Spring Invitational at the Black Mountain Golf & Country Club on Wednesday.
The Huskers' three-round total of 955 trailed the team champions from USC (895) by 60 strokes, while Pepperdine moved up the leaderboard on the final day of competition by firing a 291 to finish in second place at 910, 15 strokes behind the Women of Troy.
Arizona's Cassandra Kirkland claimed individual honors with a three-round total of 220 to finish at four-over-par. Pepperdine's Eileen Vargas finished second at 221 after producing an even-par 72 on Wednesday on the 6,009-yard layout.
Husker sophomore Chrissie McArdle produced another solid round on Wednesday with a five-over-par 77 to finish in a tie for 18th place at 231.
Senior Merynn Ito added a 79 on Wednesday to finish in a tie for 42nd place with a 241. Freshmen Elli Brown and Allison Stewart finished one stroke back of Ito in a tie for 49th at 242. Brown closed the tournament with an 81, while Stewart managed a final-round 82.
Chelsea Gehring finished a tie for 57th (244), while Sara Sackett tied for 64th (246) and Jackie Beste rounded out the Husker contingent in a tie for 67th (247).
Nebraska returns to action at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz., March 26-27.
