Huskers Announce Start Time Change for NU-Oklahoma Match on Oct. 9

Lincoln ? University of Nebraska Volleyball Coach John Cook announced Monday afternoon that the start time of Nebraska’s Oct. 9 match against Oklahoma at the NU Coliseum has been changed from 7 p.m. to 3 p.m.The move allows Husker fans the opportunity to not only come to the volleyball match, which was originally scheduled for 7 p.m., but to be able to see the entire football game between Nebraska and Texas Tech from Lubbock, which is being carried nationally on TBS beginning at 6 p.m.

The match, which is already sold out, will be carried on B107.3 FM with John Baylor, and will also be shown live state-wide on Nebraska Educational Television. The fifth-ranked Huskers are 10-1 on the season and 5-0 in the Big 12 heading into their next contest, which is against Baylor on Wednesday evening.

Huskers Climb to Fifth in USA Today/CSTV Coaches Poll
Nebraska climbed two spots in the USA Today/CSTV Coaches poll released Monday afternoon. The Huskers (10-1, 5-0 Big 12) have won seven straight matches ? all by sweeps ? including three straight wins over ranked opponents. The Huskers are now 5-0 against ranked opponents after sweeping No. 24 Kansas in their only match last week.

Nebraska is one of four Big 12 teams ranked in this week’s poll, joining No. 11 Texas, which climbed from 18th after a pair of wins last week, No. 15 Texas A&M and No. 16 Kansas State. Florida A&M, which handed Nebraska its only loss on Sept. 10, is ranked 25th in this week’s poll.

NU-KSU Volleyball Match to be Televised on Fox Sports Midwest
Lincoln ? Nebraska volleyball fans will have another opportunity to see the Huskers in action on television, as Fox Sports Midwest has announced it will carry the Oct. 13 match between Nebraska and Kansas State from Manhattan, Kan. The match will air on a tape-delayed basis on Sunday, Oct. 17, at 3 p.m. (central). Today’s announcement means that a total of 11 regular-season matches this season will be televised on a live or tape-delayed basis.
