Three Huskers Advance to Finals at Drake Tournament

Des Moines, Iowa -- Three Nebraska women’s tennis players won semifinal matches Saturday at the Drake Lloyd Stokstad Invitational to advance to tomorrow’s final round.

Senior Anna Oehme improved to 3-0 in the tournament with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Jasmin Singh of Colorado State. Oehme will face teammate Rebecca Harvey in the White Flight finals at Noon Sunday. Harvey, also a senior, is 3-0 after defeating Colorado State’s Jessica Jones, 6-2, 6-2 on Saturday.

 

NU senior Rose Ketmayura (3-0) advanced to the finals of the Grey Flight with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over CSU’s Alexandra Paganetti. Ketmayura will take on the Rams’ Carla Pallares Sunday at noon.

 

Other Huskers competing Saturday included sophomore Milena Schulz-Gartner and Leslie Harvey. Schulz-Gartner defeated Northern Iowa’s Jaime Noyce, 6-2, 6-2, but lost to Eve Soriana of Iowa State, 1-6, 6-1 (9). Harvey lost to Iowa State’s Sabrina Evers, 6-3, 6-4 in the consolation bracket of the Blue Flight.

 

The BULL Doubles flight will feature an all-Nebraska final, as Harvey and Ketmayura will take on Schulz-Gartner and Oehme at 9 a.m. Sunday.
