Lincoln--The No. 66 Nebraska women's tennis team dropped a heartbreaker today at the Woods Tennis Center to No. 67 Oklahoma State, 5-4. After singles play, NU was ahead 4-2, needing to win just one of the three doubles matches to collect a team victory. However OSU rallied to win all three doubles matches to take the team victory. With the loss, the Huskers fall to 14-6 on the year and 2-5 in the Big 12.
In singles play, junior Sandra Noetzel extended her win streak at No. 1 to 11 with a 6-0, 6-3, victory over Maria Galoustova. At No. 4, junior Gina Pelazini defeated Marketa Chemelova, 6-4, 6-2. Sophomore Danica Hardy beat Ashleigh Dolman, 7-6(7-3), 3-6, 6-2, at No. 5 singles. Freshman Amy Frisch closed out singles by beating Cameron Stoudt, 6-1, 6-0. The win was Frisch's 12th in 13 tries.
NU will return to action tomorrow at 10 a.m., against Oklahoma. The match is scheduled to be played at the Woods Tennis Center.
